They made great use of the foreground/background feature. It's clever how the enemies can move and attack between both of them, such as Sir Kibble throwing his Cutter at you from the background. Also, I loved the Fun House segments with the false mirror reflections.

Beep.
That is all.

I really don't trust Nintendo Life reviews of 2D platformers now. This game is amazing.

Yeah I was slightly led astray initially by the review because now I love this game a lot but I know there's probably other reviewers here that would have spoken more highly of the game. Just the nature of opinions

I'm also surprised by the lower scores the game is getting. The use of 3D is some of the most clever done on the system to date.

I hate to type it, but NL's Kirby: Triple Deluxe review is my least favorite review from them. Granted, a 7 is still a good score, but this game is just better than that. I hate that people are hesitant to buy this game like they were with Sonic: Lost World and Yoshi's New Island. This game shouldn't be treated like that. I'm mystified that IGN liked Yoshi's New Island more than this game.

It may not have earth-shattering innovation, but Kirby: Triple Deluxe uses traditional conventions brilliantly. It's use of 3D is the best since Super Mario 3D Land. The music is outstanding. It delivers tons of fanservice. The Hypernova ability is strangely satisfying to use against huge enemies and obstacles. There is charm bursting everywhere, from Waddle Dees with little lumberjack hats trying to chop down trees on you to a Kirby-version of the Three Little Pigs with three little Waddles Dees and Kirby as the sucking wolf. I like Triple Deluxe more than Return to Dreamland, which was also a good game. This game is severely underrated.

The NL reviewer just sounded like he was tired of Kirby games, to be honest.

Which is funny because Kirby as a series has a lot of variety

I'll have to agree to that too. I've almost completed the game 100% and I must say I've had a blast since the beginning. The 3D was nice, the gyroscope wasn't used annoyingly or too much, and Dedede is pretty awesome in this game. It just goes to show that reviews aren't always solid, regardless of where they came from. In the end, the majority of them are glorified opinions anyway.

I love this one. It's a great evolution of Kirby's Adventure, in my opinion. Not as good, but that's a pretty high bar, and it feels like a very late successor to that game.

It's very easy, but I'm loving it. Unless there are some hidden worlds, though, it seems to be a pretty short game. That's why I'm taking it slowly.

The main story is short, but completion takes a while

Its shortness is really the only bad thing about it, but just like with Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, it means that while there are fewer levels, those levels are high-quality and a treat to play over and over again. It's the old saying of "quality over quantity." I remember a few dull levels from Return to Dreamland, but I can't say that about this game. Each level seems to try something different.

Philip_J_Reed

Yeah, I definitely do like how different the levels are from each other. I'm not really worried about it being short...that's never been a drawback for me with Kirby. I like replaying them, so the fun factor is the most important thing by far. This game has that in spades.

I agree with the positive comments. When I arrived home from the mall with the game, I popped it in my 3DS just to take a quick look at it (I was planning on playing other games that day and get to Kirby at another time) and I ended up playing all day. The graphics and music were incredible and even the motion controls, which I usually dislike in platformers, were well done. It's an easy game but it has a lot of charm. Definitely recommended.

I love the Snake boss. He reminds me of Megaman! The fuse-puzzles (you know, with the cannons) are also very clever!

This game is just full of win! And man, does it look good. Maybe even better then Return to dreamland! I think its worth a 8!

Here are my thoughts so far about the game.

The 3D effect after playing the first two levels with all the stages really isn't much to me atleast and its not as close as like how 3D Land did it. So far, I like the new abilities as well and have had some fun times with the other games like Deedee drum but I don't get why I need to play fighters to complete 100% though. Speaking of which, what mode do I need to play fighters on inorder to 100% the game? So far I've done it easy and normal at times.

This game is amazing, maybe even my favorite game ever. The graphics, gameplay, music, everything! I spent a long car ride yesterday listening to the entire soundtrack. I do have a question, though. Does anyone know where tracks 41 and 110 are played in-game? 41 is a newer version of Castle Lololo, and 110 is Green Greens, but with different instruments than usual.

@Musterd: Track 110 is played at an ability room where you beat up a dummy with any ability after you beat the game. I don't know about the Castle Lololo remix.

I love the soundtrack too. The final boss music is also amazing, all of it!
