Why is Kirby always Angry in the US? Nintendo Explains
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/why-is-kirby-always-angry-in...

  • Kirby: Triple Deluxedirector Shinya Kumazaki has explained that it's down to what the two audiences get out of the character.
  • "For the Japanese versions we are, at [Kirby series developer] HAL, involved in everything throughout development, including the package design. The most powerful image of Kirby is that cute image, we think that's the one that appeals to the widest audience," explained Kumazaki in an interview with GameSpot. This cute Kirby "brings in the most people to play" in his home country of Japan.
  • "While it does start cute," Kumazaki continues, "we know there is a serious side to Kirby as well, and throughout the gameplay we see more and more of that, and the games themselves have quite a bit of depth. That being said, we recognise that Kirby's cuteness is his biggest draw in [the Japanese] market."
  • Kumazaki asys Nintendo of America controls the shots in the US, and provides HAL with "feedback and insight" into the market. "What we have heard is that strong, tough Kirby that's really battling hard is a more appealing sign of Kirby, so that's what we feature in the US."

Still majorly hyped for this. I do not trust reviews on platformers anymore after the Yoshi's New Island debacle. The game wasn't nearly as bad as many reviewers (including the NL one) would lead people to believe. It's actually a fun little adventure. Not GOTY material, but certainly not deserving of the widespread panning it received.

So you distrust reviews after disagreeing with one game's reviews? That seems to be a bit of a knee-jerk reaction

Preordered because I figure that before Smash comes out it'll tide me over for both multiplayer and to have something to play through on my 3DS in the meantime. Really looking forward to the Fighters aspect regardless of how I end up liking the story mode. I also just realized how big of a Kirby backlog I have. I've only really played a small handful of games compared to what's out and it seems like a lot of games have gone up or haven't changed significantly in price.

everything's good and it'll be that way forever!

Nah, Yoshi's New Island is a disaster. It has none of the redeeming qualities of the original.

I just got done playing the game for the first time and made it through the first world as well as played Kirby Fighters and Dedede Drum Dash. This game is fantastic. The graphics and art style are beautiful! It's so colorful and smooth. To anyone who feels scared by the 7/10 review, ignore it! If you love Kirby games, you will love this!

So there's a Kirby mass attack keychain as one of the collectible a in this game. I can't find a high quality screenshot anywhere. Can someone provide me with one? I want it to be real so bad and I doubt Nintendo or Tomy would make one anytime soon, so since I do pearled bead art I'm going to make one myself!

Also game comes out today. I love Kirby so I'm looking forward to it but I'm gonna wait for some sort of sale or deal. Have a lot of other stuff I'd rather play at the moment and MK8 is almost here. Don't be afraid of reviews though guys. I haven't seen a bad one yet. Most are saying this is a GREAT game just a tad too safe, which in my opinion, isn't bad at all. It's not like we see traditional Kirby too frequently anymore anyways!

That's the irony of the whole situation. Regardless, this looks awesome and I can't wait to pick it up!

Other things I want to add are that the boss battles are awesome and the game is bursting with charm all over the place. I pity those who miss out on this game just because of reviews.

Okay guys. I have a serious question so only answer if you're going to give me a serious response.

The only Kirby game I ever played was the Gameboy back in the 1990s when I was a kid. Will this game give my nostalgia a kick in the head? Most importantly, is it fun? I'm tearing myself up debating whether to get this game or not.
