It looks bloody brilliant.
I really enjoyed the demo, and I'd love to get it when it's released.

This Demo makes me unhappy that Europe isn't getting the Mark of Mastery edition.

Just played it. Guess what?
Kingdom Hearts is still lame. :3
Opinions!
Well you should play the first Kingdom Hearts. I can understand people hating on the newer games, as I feel they aren't the same anymore, but the original Kingdom Hearts is a wonderful game.
Where's the Circle Pad Pro support? Well, it was disabled. What the f***, SE. I wanted to use my shiny Circle Pad Pro to see if Kingdom Hearts was helped by the extra circle pad. But no, there wasn't. What the f***.
Plus, as my first time playing Kingdom Hearts, I can definitely say that the entire demo is a button masher with no rhyme and rhythm. It may not be the case for the entire game, but that just really let me down at that point.
At least the presentation was good. Except for Sora's voice.
did anyone else get a reality check when they realised that it's been 10 years since KH1 was released?
As for the demo, man was that hectic. I really wish the camera was a little more zoomed out, since when you're in flowmotion it's too fast to see where you're going. I spent a lot of this demo going "where am I going? What?" since the colours and the flying and the effects, it was all so disorientating, man. And then I decided to try a link and what the rhythm minigame? Why does Neku what? What's up with all these new funky abilities? Slot edge? Balloonga?
I left that demo feeling disorientated and horribly confused. Maybe it's just the dev's way of shoving all the game has to offer into 15 minutes, so the final product will have much better pacing and you'll have a lot of time to try out the new abilities and get used to what they do. Until then, I'm thoroughly confused; everything I thought I knew about the KH gameplay is now wrong.
Yeah, it seems as if traditional combat is rendered completely useless, because of the emphasis on Flowmotion. I tried fighting like I would in any other KH game, but got trounced (that just didn't feel right). Then I did a few simple Flomotion attacks (kicking off a wall, then attacking), a couple of Reality Shifts (launching the barrels using the touch screen), and absolutely obliterated everything.
They also gave Traverse Town a much needed makeover however, and that was very much appreciated (if a bit disorienting when trying to get around).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I kinda rushed through it, its 2 AM here, and I'm super tired ._.
@Retro, I wouldn't base Sora's personality off of that.
What I got out of the demo is Sora's an air head who gets serious only when nesecary but is really kind and always willing to help those in need. Plus I really just like how he put his hands behind his head. Y'know that stereotypical anime pose? Haha.

From people who have played the JP version, Flowmotion gets nerfed later in the game and is very weak.

I'm really glad I didn't decide to buy this game even though I had the option to get it for $19.99. I experienced absolutely no joy playing the demo, and I felt like I was just button mashing to make lots of crazy things happen on the screen. The graphics seem pretty nice, but that's about the only good thing I can say about it.

KH2 combat boiled down to hitting triangle a lot or using normal attacks when not, with not much else going on. Birth By Sleep got around that with the added abilities.
Specifically using combos. It's not really shown well in this demo (and I haven't played the game so I don't know if these abilities still exist) but in BBS you had melee abilities that could be used in the middle of a combo, but wouldn't end the chain, so you could continue extend combos for very long times with enough practice. All of the abilities in the demo are clearly for use on their own or at the end of a normal melee combo.
I imagine the full game will be more similar to BBS where it starts you off very slow and with only a few abilities so you can see how each ability works within a combo. If it is anything like BBS, chances are that you can still button mash your way through the game but it will be much slower than using proper abilities/combos.
To be honest, Birth By Sleep and now this feels like an evolution of the "flashy" combat KH2 started, except in these games you actually control and do these flashy attacks yourself instead of just mashing that stupid triangle button - feels like the best of both worlds.

I've played the demo four times. It seems great to me, although I do agree with some of the things that people above me have been saying. The full game will probably flow a lot better than the demo. By "flow," I'm not referring to "flowmotion..."

The camera got pretty crazy during the boss at the end. Other than that, its awesome. I can't play it anymore, I want it to feel fresh when I get this game in July!
