No I had the same problem really. I think it just like when you get a new pair of glasses or contacts your brain has to adjust to what you are seeing. That's assuming people who wear those.
I'm sick of the word gimmick. Honestly you could say the very same thing about 'HD graphics' What about the introduction of the N64's analog stick, or the rumble pack? What about sony's Dual analog sticks? It's hilarious what people consider a gimmick. If it enhances the experience, than what in the hell is the problem!? 3D is anything but a gimmick, the same goes for touch screen controls and motion controls, all of course when they'r done right.
People who call these things a gimmick don't want to move forward and are perfectly fine being stagnant in the same spot. To me, that's incredibly boring and that's not how the industry works...Well, thanks to Nintendo that is. As much as I loved the golden age of gaming(and still do) and retro goodness, I want to see things also move forward along with innovation and the like. 3D games is incredibly exciting. Wii pointer controls for First person games are amazing, tilt controls and shaking can all work wonderfully as well.
It won't be a gimmick when Apple's iDevices have it.

I know right!? Its ridiculous. Everything is a "gimmick" until Apple uses it. Touch screen on DS was considered a gimmick but was the best thing since sliced bread when it was used in the iPod Touch. Motion controls were a gimmick until the iPod had a gyroscope. The DSi's camera was a "gimmick" no one wanted but Apple was just praised for building one into the iPod nanos. I can't stand the double standard. Once Apple figures out a 3D iPod they will simply be praised for how incredibely innovative they are! :/
I found it hard to concentrate my eyes on the charactor and the background at the same time with Pilotwings Resort. Did that happen with any of you or can i not see 3D correctly?
I could see the background fine, but IDK if I can see 3D correctly either or not... You really have to spend some time focusing on the character, then switch to the background. SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY

The Wii & DS are the two best selling "gimmicks" in the history of video game consoles. Naysayers always have something negative to say about everything under the sun. A solution to the problem is to stay home and not take part in the launch...you'll be happy without the system and the folks that are actually buying the 3DS will be happier not having to hear your crying...I'M JUST SAYING!

Pilot Wings Resort is fine for me, I am able to look at distant objects and back to the plane, jetpack or glider perfectly fine. Try lowering the depth level.
Saying gimmick is a gimmick. Because it doesn't add anything to the point you're trying to make.
Yeah, I'm going to start saying that when people use it inappropriately. It seems to me people are following what others say- not because they genuinely mean what they say. Followers.
