http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=160278http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/06/09/iwata_asks_smash_bros/First off, I wanted to post this in the 3DS forum since Super Smash Bros. 4 was originally planned for the Nintendo 3DS. Here are the main points of this interesting interview. I couldn't get the Iwata Asks itself because it was all in Japanese. The last point might raise the most eyebrows.

As long as my favorite characters are in here (and brings Mewtwo back), Pokeballs are still there, as well as Assist trophies, Final Smashes, and the ability to play chaotic matches on the 3Ds....I'll be happy. :3
But this does sound interesting...like Pokemon or something...like two Marios won't be the same or whatever. xD
I love Erica (Strike Witches), Eureka (Eureka Seven), and Tenma (School Rumble), stay away from them. xD
Update: Also love Yukari and Mizore from Rosario + Vampire.
Another Update: Also Yuuki...from School Rumble...
Yet Another Update: Also Amber and Xiao Pai from Rune Factory 4.

Developing characters on the 3DS then sending it to SSB4 to use for a separate mode would be cool.

Please be in the game. And having King Hippo or the Egg Plant wizard as some crazy assist trophie would be epic. Also, it's always been a shame that Toad's never made it in the game because of his lack of size and reach...Maybe they could somehow work something out.

Developing them on Wii U and not having to transfer them at all would be even cooler. Smash Bros. isn't Pokemon, even if half its roster is.

Eh...don't make things complicated Sakurai.Personally I think a home console would be best for smash bros.

Don't make the Smash Bros for 3DS so unique that it'll be completely different from the home console edition. I just want to kick the crud out of people with pit on the go.

I just hope the Melee Directional Air Dodging is back, since they gimped the hell out of it in Brawl....Hell, the air dodging alone was garbage in Brawl, instead of performing that anime-like acrobatic dash you'd just sink to the ground like a tank.

If the Wii U version can top Brawl, I'm happy enough.

As for me, I don't care. It's Smash Bros. I'll be buying the WiiU and 3DS version immediately on the same day <3

I honestly don't know if they'll be able to, sure they can fix things gameplay wise such as balancing issues and tripping but Brawl had a lot of content: tons of stages, characters, modes, stickers/trophies and of course a huge selection of music. It won't be easy to top brawl in my opinion, although they could easily start with the online mode.

i hope the 3DS version comes some months before, that way we would have time to "build up" our characters before buying the Wii U game.
Outstanding Morph Marron didn't fit. Woof.

i totally agree with these characters. but they will add to the trademark cost.hopefully capcom is willing to do it.Little Mac? YES !smash needs a close combat fighter!megaman has his role to play in, he's with nintendo since its debut ! and he has a similar combat art to samus, that would fit in the roster.Simon too, with his whip, he could bring some interesting fighting element and level tricks.Starfy...eep, unsure of this one.
I would dare saying Geno from Mario rpg. i always found him cool looking, and its a shame he wasnt used again in another game.and why not using that nice paper mario sprites. it would look awesome.
