Topic: It seems like conquests for smash 3ds have stopped

Title, it looks like they stopped having them on my game, they've always had one going on since launch but since the last one stopped on 04-01-19 they haven't started a new one, can anyone else confirm?

What was a conquest? Stopped playing my 3DS Smash about 2 years ago

Basically a popularity contest for online; once every while they selected a handful of characters based on a theme (e.g royalty characters like peach, marth, bowser etc.), and if you won while playing as one of the selected characters against other players online, you would contribute points to that character and you'd get certain rewards depending on how many points you'd contributed to the character that had the most points at the end of the conquest.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those! I never did participate, but I thought they stopped doing events and stuff for Sm4sh when they showed the teaser for ultimate.

I don't have the Wii U version of sm4sh so I don't know if they had conquests as well, but the 3ds version had them since launch until the previous one ended on the 4th.

Same here. I just use sm4sh as a general term. It would seem likely they would stop before ultimates release at the very least.

Yeesh, it continued all the way till 2019! Such dedication.

I wonder how much longer they're going to keep the actual servers online, conquests were neat but the actual online vs. is much more important. Nintendo WFC lasted apparently just under 9 years but I remember it being forced to stop due to the third party that provided it going out of business. The Wii Shopping Channel lasted about 11 years before it got shutdown though, so that's currently the only sort-of indicator for how long nintendo is willing to keep their servers online. Although I just remembered Miiverse was a thing and that only lasted 5 years, and with smash ultimate being the new "portable" smash bros I'm starting to get a little bit worried.
Does anyone know of any other Nintendo Network supported games that have lost (part of) their functionality?

Is the game still alive online? Thinking of getting Smash 3DS.
