It's either, "I see what you did there!"
Or, "You do realize it's spelled calibre/caliber?"

NO! As for the 3ds fighter surge, I wish it was over!
EDIT: I love how people act like super street fighter 4 3d is fun but in reality It's garbage in comparison to the console versions! The environments were lifeless the online was full of spammers & WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CONTROL'S their horrible!

Um...Super Street Fighter 3D is fun. It has all of the epicness of the console version ported down to the 3DS. The lifeless environments may be a downside, but if you're focusing on the people cheering in the background more than the actual fight...you're gonna lose. And the controls are pretty great. Spot on and accurate. I can execute every move successfully. The only thing I wish is that they would have included the D-pad sequences alongside the Circle Pad motions. I understand Down, Right, Low Right. I don't understand " 'Z' with the Circle Pad."

And my post actually on topic...
Yes. The surge is probably dead, but we will get fighters down the line. It's an inevitable genre that fills up many consoles. I can't wait for the next round of fighters, but since I have all of the epic 3DS fighters (DoAD, SSIV3D, and Tekken), I'm good until then.

EDIT: I also hate the fact that the 1 time nintendo goes hd capcom say's no to SSFIV for wii u WHY NOT!

Because Street Fighter 4 is a game from 2009.
I'd much rather get a new game. Like a new Darksiders.
As for the topic, I'd say yes. Although I would say it is a bit of a stretch to call it a "surge". Three games, and an additional one later on, and I wouldn't clarify that as a surge. Still, the games we got (well, SSF4 and DOA:D) are very, very good games.

When they make games, I prefer them to at least have a little bit of a difference. The very early Neo Geo fighters all were similar, and it wasn't really until 1995 when they really became great.

Come back when you've actually played those games, and for more than 5 minutes, because I don't believe anyone can say SamSho played the same as Fatal Fury, and that World Heroes played the same as Art of Fighting. There are plenty of differences that become obvious as you play, and what works in one game doesn't work in the others. And before you say "well the sequels were all similar" well that's how sequels work, especially in this genre. Don't fix what ain't broke, remember? It doesn't help that Fighting games are more or less a sport, and sports don't exactly evolve very often.

Having sampled a handful of early NG games at an old gameshop on an arcade cabinet, I can tell you that they are all pretty lacking compared to the late gen games. Still well made, but not enough to sell me.

Capcom's logic is that the people who would buy Street Fighter 4 at this point are exhausted. Pretty much all fighting game fans already own a PS3 or XBOX 360 at this point. The difference with the 3DS version (and the iOS version, to a lesser extent) is that people can actually play it on the go.
Portable fighters are, well, portable. I agree with you that console versions will always be superior, simply for two reasons:
1) Easy access to local multiplayer
2) Ability to play with a fight-stick
Still, being able to play anywhere is still quite a virtue, and SSF4 has the exact same controls on 3DS as it does with any regular controller, so I'm having a hard time seeing your argument that the game's controls are trash... or other 3DS fighter's for that matter.

They did not say they did not want that game on there I said that because If they had to say there will be 1 more version before they make a Brand new game please be on wii u! But alsa that 3ds will always have capcom support & wii u will never get a capcom game outside of monster hunter.

@Brando67854321 It's just not economically viable for Capcom. There's no real point in them putting the game on the WiiU from a business perspective.
Also, there isn't really any indication that they'll continue Street Fighter 4 outside of the iOS version. They've milked it dry.
As for Capcom WiiU support, isn't it a little bit early to say how much they'll support the system for the next half-decade?

Why don't you ask sega that then?!?!?!? Either way I'm not buying that piece of crap known as the 3ds version! I'm going to wait for a wii u version & it wont be for a LONG, LONG, LONG time!

Why not just get it on 360, PS3, or PC? You can play with an arcade stick and everything. If you want to play it so bad, just get it. No need waiting for something that may never come out when you've got so many options currently out there already.

I don't see why you're getting so emotional about this. No-one is forcing you to play or not play a game. If your going to join the Hate-Capcom bandwagon, I suggest something that doesn't pertain to a subject (severe milking of franchises) that those people on said bandwagon hate.

Code of Princess is a fighting game right? I mean it uses the level-up system and plays like an RPG, but isn't Dissidia Final Fantasy similar?
Anyways fighting games aren't usually released for handheld consoles so it baffles be that we got 4 major fighting games were released for a handheld system. I'm pleased to see that we got fighting games the DS never got. I hope we get some games like Virtua Fighter, and I would jump in glee if we ever get Dissidia.

We've gotten 4 major fighting games, with at least one (two counting 3DSWare) to come (likely more).

I say we give fighting games a rest and get a good mixture of genres on the system. I'd like a first-person shooter, WarioWare title (counts as it's own genre), open world game, and perhaps some more original 3D platformers (we've seen quite a bit of 2.5D/Puzzle Platformers, but I can only recall one retail 3D platformer made up of original content).

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

I actually surprised more fighters haven't gone the Super Smash Bros route. I mean, experimenting with your fighting systems does nothing but good for the genre right? Dissidia had it's courage/damage system, Playstation All Stars has it's limit break orb system, and there was a series of Naruto games that had both players share a health bar, making comebacks harder but still possible. I mean, what if Namco took their Soulcalibur and Tekken franchises and put the characters from those together with a Super Smash Bros fighting system? Using Jin's uppercut to knock off Yoshimitsu would be awesome!

Honestly I'm really not into fighting games outside of Super Smash Bros anymore because they're just not intuitive. I mean, you have to memorize lengthy lists of button executions, be able to perform them correctly on a moment's notice, and execute them according to minor shifts in whether your opponent is guarding low, mid, or high. The goal of a game is ALWAYS to get your opponent's health bar down to zero, which makes no more sense than percentages lowering your weight. In SSB, you're more focussed on pointing your stick in one direction, and executing a move based on what direction your opponent is in with one of two buttons, with very light variations in execution.

I'd actually like to see a 3D fighting game like Dissidia use the mechanic of knocking an opponent off the stage as the only means of scoring a kill, as it's much more satisfying than just lowering a health bar...
