Topic: Is Megaman Dead?

I know what ZX is, I own it. I just never got the sequel or knew about this ending.

I had to look up the ending, I just could not do it, the second one is good but the fact it goes linear takes away from the game and some of the bosses are annoying to control, but it's not bad just not as fun as the first one, then again hard mode might have just frustrated me because I could not beat it unlike the original. Sorry about the spoiler.

Yes, Mega Man is dead. Not even a re-release on the EShop can save him now.

Mega man died when Inafune left Capcom. Sad but painfully true.

Fun Fact: JumpMad has been constantly trolling the forums for the past 6 months or so, and he's rarely been letting up even though most of his efforts have completely failed. But now I'm starting to wonder if he's beginning to meta-troll people now with the fact that he has been doing absolutely nothing but that for the past half-year...

OT: I can't quite believe that Capcom would kill Megaman. I'm sure that Capcom realizes that there's still money to be made off of the character, but they're so busy with products that will guarantee them money that they really don't care about the character right now.

If Capcom doesn't care about Mega Man, then why did they make Mega Man 9 and 10 and all those last gen spinoffs?

However, I am glad they cancelled Mega Man Universe. The game looked like crap, the art style was horrible.

Well then in that case you're right. Inafune spearheaded most of those Mega Man games, including Legends 3. With him gone, it seems Capcom doesn't want to do much with the franchise.

Then again. the creators of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry left Capcom a few years ago, and those franchises are still being made. And we saw a sequel to Okami on the DS after Clover closed.

Capcom may just surprise us in the future...

No I'm not mad LordJumpMad it should be fun seeing your continued sense of sarcasm, that being said you did confuse me for a while.

Capcom will bring back Megaman when we are so deprived we will:
a) not care and they can stop caring too
b)they make lots of money from everyone rushing to get the next game and keep making them
or they will instead:
c)just keep reselling the old games for little effort and good profit
-many more futures exist, but I would bet on one of those

The best possibility is b right now of course I'm just guessing at a possible future

I really though Sonic would be the first of the old school mascots to die.

I would like to see Megaman X get reloaded like they did with MM9 and MM10 and the Konami games did on Wiiware, other than that, the series could do well in a FPS format (think metroid prime) hey they could even call it Megaman Prime!

im working on a fan made megaman game. nothing big and wont be putting it online. but megaman will forever live on on my computer, and my teachers, and my best friends, and maybe anybody who asks for it.....

Calling it Megaman Prime would be kind of... Stupid, but otherwise, that is a great idea, really. Or, they could just do MML3... But it won't happen. :/

I kinda hope that Megaman has some kind if future ahead of him. Megaman 2 was the first video game i ever played. My favorite ones were the Megaman Zero series. But as far as I can tell, there is no reason why Crapcom should stop with the Megaman games
