I recently picked up the new 3DS XL specifically for Pokemon Moon. But I had no games, so I picked up ocarina of time for nostalgia purposes. I'm 24, so I managed to play ocarina of time as a kid when it came out, but I remember only making it to the water temple and giving up (I was 7). I also remember picking up Majoras mask when it came out in 2000 when I was also a kid, but I remember it being extremely difficult and I couldn't really figure out what was going on passed the beginning.
Anyways, I bought the game 3 days ago, and I'm just about to do the final temple, and played through it no problem without a guide since I'm an adult now. But now that I'm almost done, I really feel like I want to go back and pick up majoras mask.
Sell me on the idea, how good is the game?
Well, it depends. How much did you enjoy Ocarina of Time? Would you like the experience if it was shorter, darker and with a sense of deja vu?
Personally, I'm not the biggest Zelda fan (Wind Waker is one of my favourite games, but I find that Zelda way superior than the others), but I did enjoy Ocarina and Majora's Mask on the 3DS, Enjoying Majora's Mask more because that's precisely how you do a dark game without trying too hard. It never gave me the impression of "this game is trying to be edgy" that others do and I enjoyed the story and characters more. So, if Ocarina was worth it and if you see the changes I mentioned as positive aspects, chances are you are gonna enjoy it.
Have you considered a link between worlds? its way different than majoras mask, but in my opinion its the best 3DS zelda game. a lot simpler, though still challenging and very satisfying. I would go for it, unless you want something darker and complicated. in that case, it would be wiser to go with majoras mask
