I had a 3DS for 7 months before I upgraded to a 3DSXL and I'm glad I did. The 3DS felt too cramped and was far to small for my hands. I picked up an XL after Christmas for $149, sold my 3DS for $110 online and haven't looked back since.

Both models in my opinon have their perks so I'd keep both around just to have the 3DS's speakers echoing throughout my wonderfully silent windy house XD
