Sorry, I do like Advance Wars but not nearly as much as FE. And given the choice, I'll take FE every time. Even if we already have 2, Id still rather take a 3rd FE over AW.
Maybe if they had their B team do it, or the group that did Code Name STEAM since it's obviously not the same team working on FE14. That would work.
I'm actually the opposite way. I really like the Fire Emblem series but would rather have Advance Wars 3 Times over FE.

I'm down for another Advance Wars. There is plenty of room for improvement in that series. I'd say there is one on the old Nintendo To Do List, at least I can hope.

I also wouldn't mind more people chiming in with new features they would like to see the series take on if it did get a 3DS iteration. I know you guys are all creative minds so by all means get your ideas down for us to see!
I would like to see them use some of the military madness gang up moves. As in the more surrounded your enemy is the weaker he gets. For instance if you have a unit directly in front and behind it would reduce their stats by half and give you a boost in yours. I've always wondered why they never did this. Makes sense in the military aspects of it. You attack anyone from front and behind you wouldn't stand much of a chance however you would take some damage but not as much. Also the more units you have in that circle the stronger you get and the weaker your opponent gets.
Yeh, anything to just deepen the tactical aspect a bit more.
A couple of things off-hand I'd like is; an increase in veteran promotions from 3 to at least 5 or more and a multiplayer army customisation option like they have for your CO's in design room in Dark Conflict (days of ruin). I'd love there to be options to pick the sprites for your units and a colour scheme for your army to go with it. Thinking about it I would also love the option to make a custom CO based around making your avatar in FE:A. You could pick your CO powers from a list and maybe a small stat boost and reduction for a couple of units to represent the differences between nations combatants. All that is in mind for multiplayer but I wouldn't mind a story centred around your custom CO...I know, I know I'm stealing off Fire Emblem here but I loved having a custom character to take through the story.

I know this is a long-dead thread, but I just feel like Nintendo really missed the boat by not bringing Advance Wars to the 3DS. I know it is not their best-selling franchise, but the games are just so great! While I did not like the darker tone of Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict, they really streamlined the units and balanced out the gameplay with the flare and anti-tank units. I would always use tank-heavy COs like Max, and my friend would ALWAYS use Grit and his long-range units, so the flare and anti-tank gave each of us a great counter for the other.

I have many memories of Advance Wars. I would totally buy Advance Wars 3DS day one. Seems like it's one of those franchises we loved in earlier generations that got left behind along with Golden Sun and the RPG aspect of Mario Tennis/Golf. Bring back Andy, Max and Sami and people would still recognize them.
On 3DS? No. That ship has sailed, and I find myself playing with my 3DS less and less these days. I'd probably still grab it, but I doubt that I will get very far with it.
But on Switch? Hell yes.

I don't think it's a good idea anymore to release a 3ds version. Usually a game sells worse at the end of a systems life. If they want it to have a chance the Switch is the right platform for it.
A fully HD Advance Wars game on Switch would be pretty awesome. No idea if I want the DS style or Ruins one, though. Since both had their ups and downs...

YES! I would love to see an Advance Wars on the 3DS but I think Nintendo will be focusing more on Fire Emblem as they usually don't release two franchises with the same genre on a single console family.

My biggest problem is, besides the broken CO power on you know who, Days of Ruin always seemed the most balanced, and the level editor is super flexible. Yet I can hardly play it because the art style is off-putting and I just miss dual strike too much.
At this point, if they just made one more advance wars on the switch with the COs from dual strike, a super flexible level editor like DoR, perhaps in HD, and of course gameplay improvements/more units, I'd be happy. Don't know if that will happen though.
