I think it would be easier for nintendo to make the game (TP) look good on 3D than on HD, unlike Wind Waker
And it would probably sell much more.
Not so dumb, if you ask me.
I didn't say they should release it on Wii U, but definitely on console. Whenever they do redo, it if they want to make it current, they'll have to overhaul the textures, make it 1080p, upgrade the sound quality, add a hero mode; all that jazz. It's a big commitment and a lot of hard work, but it's not about what's easy, it's about improving the original game. Why should we buy a game we've already played if it's not improved? I can't how that game could be remade, and improved, on any handheld in the next decade. If they're not ready to improve it I would rather they not remake it until they are.
Realistically I think that all Wii/DS games that aren't rare should be off-limits for HD/3D remasters. Xenoblade Chronicles is fine because it's rare everywhere and also Gamestop's horrific approach to selling the game in the US led to ridiculous prices.

I don't see that. The obvious way to lower those prices would be for Nintendo to digitally release Xenoblade on the Wii U. That way it would only look default jaggy instead of extra-special jaggy. I guess Nintendo wants the 3DS sales, though :/
or were the motion controls integral to the Skyward Sword experience?
The fact that you asked this makes this kinda pointless. The game was built around the motion controls
Kinda like how Diablo was built around point and click controls? Last time I checked Diablo 3 seems to be doing just fine on consoles. If every other Zelda game functions just fine with traditional controls I don't see why this game couldn't be retooled so that it plays like them. I know plenty of people never played Skyward Sword specifically because they didn't want to play an entirely motion controlled Zelda game.
Well play a different game. Nintendo would have to rehaul the ENTIRE game to change controls

They wouldn't have to rehaul the entire game, but it would require a lot more effort than a handheld port should take.
They would have to create new enemies, change a few puzzles, and alter some of the items. There have been full remakes of games that have implemented plenty of changes like this (e.g. HeartGold/SoulSilver). But it doesn't make sense for Nintendo to do that for a port to a handheld system of a game less than 4 years old.

The problem with remastering Twilight Princess is that the art style is dated. That's the problem all games that go for a "realistic" art style. They remain very much a product of their own time. The game looked fantastic in 2006, but if you remastered it in 1080p now and put it beside contemporary games, it would look like butts.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

It's not exactly a realistic art style, the muted color palette and bloom effects emphasize the sunset and twilight times. If it was realistic things would be a bit more vibrant, but it wouldn't be that game. I still love the way Twilight Princess looks, but if they wanted to remake it they would have to completely overhaul the textures, otherwise it wouldn't look current.
It's not "realistic" in the traditional sense as much as it's blatantly the pseudo-realistic that fans asked for because they wanted an OOT. I love Twilight Princess but they've straight up admitted that's it was a giant pandering fest to fans who wanted edgy, dark, less cartoony OOT2.0.
Uhhh... There's tons of other games that deserve remakes that aren't Zelda. Zelda U needs to be the last Zelda game for a good freaking while.
You know, if you don't want Zelda remakes, don't buy them. I'm not buying Majora's Mask 3D because they mucked around with too many of the core mechanics. I don't imagine Twilight Princess will be remade until the next Nintendo console at least.

I haven't played MM yet, but when I do, I think I'll go for the original. If what I'm hearing about the Bomber's notebook is correct, I have a bad feeling that the sidequests are going to feel like a modern pokemon game where you just go through the motions as the game tells you, with no required logic.

I think the N64 remakes are sufficient (at least for now). They should rather focus on creating new games for the 3ds or N3ds respectively, even new IPs - like codename steam...
A starfox game for the N3ds would be a nice option and a good way to continue the upcoming starfox game, dont you think!

Yeah, the original version is superior from a gameplay perspective. There's just a lot more freedom to it, particularly around the Great Bay area.
And if you haven't completed Twilight Princess don't wait for a hypothetical remake, just go online now and buy the gamecube version and play it on a gamecube or wii (doesn't matter) with a gamecube controller. Seriously one of the best 10 or so games ever made.
