Topic: Improving the performance of older games on the new 3DS?

So we are aware that the new 3DS can run some games better than on the old 3DS, the Monster Hunter games for instance. It's plausible that older games, one example being Donkey Kong Country Returns, could benefit from the newer hardware if developers were to release patches to take advantage of said hardware to improve game performance. In the case of DKCR, an improvement in framerate would be fantastic. Is there anything we could do to persuade such a thing to happen?! Surely by doing so it can only push hardware sales?

It would require updating each individual game to detect and work in new 3ds mode.

It's probably not worth the effort for the devs.

Bloop.

You're definitely right about DKCR. I remember that feeling like 15fps or something.

Don't think there are many other examples though. Most games hit 30fps. Wouldn't be anything for them to patch in without a lot of extra work.

One adjustment that would be very welcome would be an increased draw distance in Dragon Quest 8.

Better speakers??

A man can dream! I'm quite surprised they haven't in a way, they could brand it dlc and charge for it 😅! I'd pay for some games.
