If you were a Nintendo representative and you were trying to sell someone a 3DS over a Vita, keep in mind this person has only the most basic of knowledge when it comes to 3D, Nintendo, Sony etc., what would you say to sell them that 3DS.

I would hug them. We would have a good cry together, and then I would walk them through some stress relief techniques. After that I would counsel some close family members and a close friend and try to get them to help me help their relative/friend. Finally, I would force them to buy a 3DS through manipulation and passive aggressive threats.
Tell them it's inexpensive, it won't break after one drop, it's portable, has the best 1st party titles as well as 3rd party titles, 3D is optional and you get can play any and most DS games, as well have an online shop to downloads hundreds of other games.
Yeh, I'd be a bad rep for that
If I was president, I'd put games before business- you know, like Iwata. Reggie has no background of game development as far as I know, where Iwata does which is why NoJ is the best of Nintendo's division.
Duh, when I try to encourage people to get one, to me the selling point isn't the 3D. Since people have so many excuses about it based on things they have seen about people getting, headaches, destroying eyes. Whats scary is that on streetpass day in Tulsa, some kid that was under the suggested age for the 3D had an seizure, which is why the parental control needs to be put on. I tell people it has better graphics and you can turn off the 3D, which is the truth.
If I were a Nintendo Rep I'd have a lot of good weapons and in no particular order:
$150 vs $250
3DS has all it needs the in box, Vita requires a memory card to save 4GB to 32GB, proprietary Sony charges $30-150 for!
Established leader in handhelds since 1989
The upcoming holiday lineup and existing from them alone
Monster Hunter 4 being on it, not Vita or PS3 as expected, and 3G Tri too before that
Point out MGS, RE Revolutions, BitTrip, Cave Story, Williams Pinball, Ace Combat, and all the others that have a little of every valuable genre so it's something for everyone.
Point out the virtual console and existing DSIware working too + 3DS ware
DS games work as well from the full library
Built in system apps makes system fairly self sufficient in the short term
That should be more than convincing. The Vita has for it more touch things, and a beefer cpu and ram load which will allow for more graphics to make it a console on the go. Pitch the 3DS as a handheld you can do for minutes or hours and be totally satisfied with the experience. Hell not that they would, people haven't in ages, but point out for the price of a vita and the needed memory card and 1 game, how many games you can get with the 3DS with its hardware. Genesis vs SNES did this in the day with price and library stacks on TV which was effective for a couple years. Show a 3DS and a stack of 5 games vs a Vita, memory and 1 game...or point out the total number of DS+3DS games vs Vita games at retail. That would hurt too.
