Topic: Idea for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Remake

So Miyamoto has said that they might remake The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. My idea for the remake is that the story and all stays the same, but instead of the camera view being above Link, it would be a 3D world like Ocarina of Time 3D. It would make the game seem like a whole new game besides the story. What do you think?

Please don't ruin the best zelda game (IMO). But we havent seen a re-release of this in a while so as long as they dont mess with the gameplay and story I am fine.

If Nintendo were to rebuild A Link to the Past from the ground up in the style of the N64-to-present console Zeldas, it would cease to be A Link to the Past. That kind of shift in perspective and dimension will have to come with some serious gameplay alterations (they'd have to entirely re-work the combat system, add an aiming system for items like the bow and the hookshot, probably provide tutorials of some sort and change environments so that some objects on higher levels can be seen, among other things), and yet it wouldn't bring anything new to the Zelda table either - and it would annoy a lot of ALttP purists to boot. I don't really see the point.

At that point, Nintendo would be better off spending their time and resources working on an entirely new game - which is exactly what they would do, because if there's one thing Nintendo has stressed in their remakes, it's that they like to be as faithful as possible to the source material. They wouldn't re-orchestrate the music of Ocarina of Time for the 3DS game in order to preserve fans' memories of it, I can't see them changing how ALttP fundamentally plays should they choose to "update" it.

Besides, OoT already was in many ways a re-imagining of ALttP.

Its not really ruining, if its the same game.

I heard Nintendo stop making 3D Classic, because their lazy, and its hard to make them.
You don't hear Sony say that about their games, and they have more games classic games to download them nintendo. While we're still waiting for GBA games, but only getting NES games.

We already have GBA games.

Nintendo has not once promised downloadable GBA games beyond the 10 offered to Ambassadors, so I don't know why anyone would be waiting for them.
