Topic: Idea for new 3DS accessory.Gamecube Pad.

The Gamecube controller is one of the most comfortable controllers to hold and I was thinking because super smash bros 3ds is coming out and that you can connect it to the WiiU version eventually.Why not make an attachment like the circle pad pro but with gamecube sticks and a gamecube button layout.I remember how uncomfortable the 3ds XL was to hold when I first got it until I got used to it but sometimes my fingers will get cold because of lack of circulation holding something flat like the 3ds xl for a while.Maybe it could have a backup battery charger which is something I had on my normal 3ds.

I'm having trouble picturing this in my mind. Maybe draw a quick diagram of it in MS Paint or something?

I guess you're suggesting to give the 3DS wings on each side that replicate the layout of the GCN controller? That could work, but its going to add an awful amount of weight.

It would be nice to see Nintendo do something more ergonomically sound on their next handheld reiteration then the traditional 'flat box' that their handhelds have always seemed to have. I mean the Wii U gameplay is similar to a handheld, and its very comfortable to hold with its handle wings. Its also quite a bit larger of course.

I would like it if you could play Smash 3DS on the big screen, like with Game Boy player. That would be awesome. Maybe we'd get full GC controller support for that. Maybe.

I think they would kind of hinder sales of the New 3DS.. Also I don't see it being very form fitting. Doesn't make much sense either. If you want to play the game with that controller then just play the console version. I don't even own a Wii U and that makes sense to me. I do own a 3DS.

It's not the wings design but rather the other design I had in my head though I originally designed it to have wings but then I thought that it would be too wide to handle in real life.

Looks near impossible to make in a comfortable or even ergonomic fashion. Where would the shoulder buttons go for instance? How would you see the bottom screen? Any sized smaller would be difficult. It would have to be remapped completely just to fit.

Maybe we can forget about Gamecube shoulder buttons even though I love them but they wouldn't be practical anyway for smash bros 3ds.downsize the abxy buttons to suit the 3ds and we'll not go with my design at all and have each half of the controller on each side and so you will get the feel of a Gamecube Controler while playing Super smash bros 3DS.People are having problems already keeping the circle pad on so this would be a good way to tackle the problem by not using the circle pad at all.This attachment would also work for every other 3DS game.It would be great to play the games on your TV but the bigger the screen the blurrier it gets that's why I didn't suggest a Gameboy player alike feature.Unless Nintendo somehow found a way to make a clear image on a big screen then it wouldn't be a good thing for your health.It just an idea again and maybe Nintendo have already came up with both if these ideas but may have scrapped it because they weren't actually good ideas.Keep in mind Nintendo did patent a button swapping device.Maybe the idea is for their next handheld console.

How would you get the new button layout to work? It would weigh more than the GC controller, making it far less comfortable. The shape of the controller would not work at all with the 3DS.

This sounds horrible and completely un-portable, just buy the Wii U version if you want to use a GCN controller.

I'm getting the Wii U and 3DS Super Smash bros plus the Gamecube controller and adapter bundle.Sorry if what I think may be an interesting idea is a terrible idea all together to you.The only way it could work is if it was a wing attachment that the 3DS/3DS XL simply slips into like how a 3DS/3DS XL slips into the Circle Pad/Circle pad Pro.It may add a bit of weight but if your willing to sacrifice holding your 3DS/3DS XL up all the time for lying it on your lap like I do anyway.You wouldn't really notice the weight of he attachment anyway and you would be able to to play the 3DS Games comfortably like on a home console.

Smash 3DS has diferent stages and modes.
Plus I like low res graphics on the big screen, for some reason.
