I, the amazing, tech savvy person I am, attempted to take two different 3DS with broken 3D sliders and use them to create one with working 3D affects. As you can probably tell by the fact that I am making this listing, completely and totally failed. In the process I damaged two of the clasps, (the one connected to the digitizer, and the one connected to the joystick). The grey piece that holds down the ribbons was popped of, never to be seen again. I was wandering if there are any easy ways to fix this?, or If I will need to purchase an entire new motherboard. (Sorry for all the grammar mistakes).

Also I forgot to mention, ever since the joystick stopped working, along with the touch screen, none of the buttons except for the home button seem to work at all.

Actually I think I might know what is wrong, it might be a problem with the actual button, located inside the back pallet of the 3DS, I think they can be purchased for like 3 or 4 dollars with shipping i could send pictures maybe? I don’t know how to I am very new to this website.

@legendcoworker the good news is that it’s very easy to replace, you just open the back plate of the 3DS, and then it’s just as simple as lifting of the backplate, unscrewing one screw, and then replacing it with the new one, I don’t know for sure if that is your problem but it might be. (Also I am horrible at explain how to do it so I will try to figure out how to post pictures/videos

I don’t know how to get the screw out, but I did discover while testing my 3ds XL, that all you need to do is unplug the bumper button and flip it around and it should work fine.
