So...what if I buy my 3Ds on the 12th, then set my system date to before the 11th?

Would I be able to get those free games o.O

No. The time that you entered the eShop on is registered by Nintendo's servers.

It won't work. The servers will register it at the time of registration, meaning it doesn't matter what you set your clock to.

um...no...but feel free to give it a try.

The servers that you log into know the time...they don't depend on your 3DS time.

So you could change the internal clock before you got on there.

It's recorded by Nintendo on their internal servers, not the clock on your 3DS. Nintendo uses the clock on their servers to schedule eShop updates and the like so they're bang on time and it's the same clock they use to register when you first opened eShop.

The only thing changing the clock will help you with is Animal Crossing DS.

Sure, if you hack Nintendo's system and change their sever clocks. LOL, don't even think about it.

Then the eShop would go down for a month and we'd get another 20 free games.

Yeah, like I said, by, not on. Nintendo has their own clocks to avoid that kind of cheating.

i.e. if you changed your computer clock and posted something on this website, the website would record the real time based on its own clocks, not what your computer says.

Could you imagine if it did? I could post something from the future!
