Not that I'm complaining, but I got 300 play coins without doing anything. I opened my 3DS from sleep mode and the screen remained black for a bit longer than normal. Then a box popped up saying that it couldn't find my sd card. All of the SD icons were then gone from the screen. I popped out the memory card. As I did this, I accidentally activated the camera. Then I popped the memory card back in. The camera app had a bubble that said, "do you want photos to be saved to this sd card?". I hit yes. Then I hit the home button. All my game icons were back. Then I noticed my coin count. It was at 300! I only had 8 coins before! Anyone else experience anything like this before?
Ok, I just tried it... nothing. I think it had something to do with that original error message. I tried removing the memory card while the 3ds was on, and got a black screen error message, not a word bubble error message.

This has happened to me, from comparing the experience, it may be random. I had my 3ds in sleep-mode charging from practically noon-morning the next day and walked 35 steps without opening it, then when I opened 22 play coins went to 300... I dont think I am rezzing an old thread without reason here, As this is an easy way to get play coins it will likely be something benefitting the community.
This has happened to me. I had my 3DS XL in my pocket and took a few steps, then I opened it to see how it was tracking my steps, and I had a ton of play coins.

Wish I had 300 coins. I do a lot of walking around in the mall with my family, though, so I don't really run out.
