Topic: I gave up!!!

I pre-order the 3DS along with OoT and RE: mercs. I had my first born child on the March 27th, on the way home from the hospital I stopped in and picked up my new play thing. I am a nintendo freak. I have beaten OoT for the 100th and had fun with it. I unlocked all the alternate costumes in RE.(all but Rebecca, and that was the best/hardest one to get) Heck I even have logged over 45 hours of gameplay on Shadow Wars. I also purchased SSFIV, Madden, and Splinter Cell. Other then OoT I have had a ho-hum experience. You can only play it so may times. Today I traded in my 3DS, I think the 3DS has failed so far. I don't think it will be like this for ever, but its going to be a while and a lot more games later before I pick up another 3DS. With the 223$ I got from my trade in's I put it towards a PS3 3 games and a 19" flat screen for my office. I had some fun today, my wife was upset when I was 45 mins late from work. Anyone else ready to pull the plug? I was sad to do it, but I'm much happier now...

I personally think the 3DS is the greatest handheld gaming system of all time because you can play original DS games on it, there's Ocarina of Time, and now you can watch every King of the Hill episode while your on the toilet.

Why is everyone so "disappointed" by the 3DS? Does no one remember... oh... ANY launch of ANY game system EVER? How many stellar, blow-your-mind, replay-a-thousand-times, games are released for a system within int's first few months on the market? Aren't we being a little too hasty and judgmental?

I bought the system for the fall/holiday line-up in the first place. And Netflix.

Except since then there's also been sweet FA announced. It's all - surprise surpirse - Nintendo stuff. The 3rd party support on the horizon is frankly woeful.

The guy's right. We're still about a year away from the 3DS hitting its stride. And that's assuming the Vita doesn't blow it away, which might well happen.

PlayStation 3 PAL launch + first year.
Xbox 360 didn't have too bad of a launch either over here.

Mark my words, in two years time, the original poster of this thread will have regretted selling his 3DS. Give it time, people. It's already infinitely better than it was at launch and it's only gonna get better.

I've had a DS Lite since 2005 and got 2 games for it. (Yeah, 2005 was THE worst year for owning a DS but.....).........my 3DS greatly out-pwns my 2005 experience. Ever since I bought a 3DS, I haven't touched a console.

PS: Corbie, why are you suddenly SO against the 3DS? Are you not a mod here? Are you not a Nintendo fan? I know I read you had some black screen of death errors, but c'mon! You know this system is going to get good. It already has. Why are you being so negative about it lately?

It's interesting that it actually requires more patience to be an early adopter than a late adopter. Personally I think it is an excellent system and there are a lot of games I'm looking forward to. Fortunately, I am playing Ocarina of Time for the first time so I will probably be playing it for quite a while. I'm also playing Twilight Princess for the first time on the Wii so I'm honestly pretty set for games at the moment.

I'm trying to learn to really appreciate what I do have and play the heck out of it rather than my usual MO of jumping from game to game, finishing some and not others.
