Topic: How to get street passes?

I have recently upgraded from the dsi xl to be new 3ds xl. I’m really interested in the street pass feature and want to know the best way and best places to get some streetpasses in 2019.

The easiest way to get consistent street passes is going to 2014

(or having two 3ds)

I doubt people are still walking around with 3ds' anymore.
The only places I can think of that might be worth trying is at big events that involve comics, films and video games. The last one I went to was about 5 years ago, and I managed to get over 100 hits.
If you do get any passes show up, always take the purple pieces from the puzzles if you can, the rest can be bought with coins, but the purple pieces can't, they can only be got from streetpasses.

1. Buy another 3DS
2. Activate Street Pass for both 3DS you have.
3. Close your 3DS, move your both 3DS like they are passing each other and wait until green light blinking from both 3DS.
4. You can do Street Pass again after 8 hours.

Before my friend moved away, we would get together for gaming, which included multiplayer games on our 3DS systems. Usually whenever we got together, we would get a Street Pass for either Mii Plaza or games we both had. I found this to be the easiest option. So if you have a friend or a family member with a 3DS or a 2DS, you'll both get a Street Pass.

If I remember correctly, certain stores and restaurants had stations that would store street pass hits that would transfer to you when you Street passed them. I think like game and McDonald's had them, not sure. Just walk down your local high street with it enabled and see if any are still active I guess!

awwww shame, no chance of a streetpass in london... I set it up the other day but no joy.
There's just no replacement for it now

Na, it's one of those things that if we all agreed we could start it up again, as it's totally offline and not something that can be shut down, but most people are off buying gamecube games again on new consoles, followed by old game boy games, to care about technology that's brilliant and cheaper! It'd make my commute so good!

@ReaderRagfish do you recall the places you went to when you get an occasional streetpass (like was in a store, a restraunt, or in the road or something?) I just got the 3ds for the first time a couple weeks ago and really want to encounter a wild streetpass.

What kind of 3DS games you need Street Pass?
Different 3DS games have different effect when you get Street Pass notification.
Games like Nintendogs, Animal Crossing New Leaf, Style Savvy Fashion Forward, etc have Street Pass features that you can get various items by doing Street Pass.

@Anti-Matter I just want to use them in streetpass mii plaza for unlocking games and just to have a streetpass in gerneral. I have never gotten a streetpass at all before. I went around the mall a little bit and inside all the game stores in the mall but no luck finding any streetpasses . also I am new to the 3ds I just got one a couple weeks ago.

If you don't mind to get another 3DS, you can do easy Street Pass anytime anyplace.
But at this time right now, i'm afraid you cannot get Street Pass anymore due to no more hotspot for Street Pass and very few (or nobody) peoples carry their 3DS nowadays.
My advice, get another 3DS with cheaper price and you can do Street Pass everyday.

@Charlieisanoob In 2019? You're only really likely to get them at events like anime/game/comic conventions or maybe big game stores.

No insult intended, but you're like the guy who shows up to the last football game of the season after not only the game has ended, but most people have left the stadium and gone home already. Just a handful still lingering around talking about it.

Streetpass was awesome, especially when I was in college in the US and here in Japan until about early 2018. At its peak, I could walk to the corner convenience store and get 10 without even seeing another person on the street! I remember sitting in a cafe in Osaka and by the time I cleared out a full group of 10, 10 more new ones were waiting! When I went to the San-Japan convention in Texas I could literally have sat there all day getting them non-stop!

@Heavyarms55 ok I get it. I missed out on streetpass. Just thought it would be cool walking around places and collecting miis everywhere I go and unlocking games.

@Charlieisanoob It really was. I imagine you would have enjoyed it. Sorry to say though, it is basically gone.

It’s a shame that Nintendo just didn’t unlock Streetpass to allow us to exchange codes. I bring this up bc I lost all my data on my first 3ds and had to start over. I only have 27 in my plaza.
