I don't know exactly, but some games easily surpass the graphics of the wii.

You know what my biggest problem with the 3DS is? The amount of developers that still make games that are barely pushing the system to it's limits.
Resident Evil Revelations, Super Street Fighter 4, Monster Hunter, Kid Icarus, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Dead Or Alive, Luigi's Mansion, all look excellent but i don't think they are better than the Wii. There is nothing on the 3DS that looks as good as Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2, I'm sorry but Super Mario 3D Land doesn't even come close to the graphics of either of those games. Resident Evil Revelations probably only looks better because Resident Evil 4 Wii edition was just a a port of a PS2 and GameCube game and not built from the ground up. I don't think Mario Kart 7 looks better than either Mario Kart Wii or Double Dash to be honest.
Maybe in a few years we will get games looking that good but at the moment I can't see it

From what I've heard, it's a slightly underpowered Wii, but with some shader capabilities.

Apparently there is a Conduit game in the works for 3DS, using the same engine as the past Conduit games. So that says something.

In some ways, it's more powerful than the Wii but in other ways, it's slightly less powerful.

I help keep these threads updated: New 3DS VC games in Japan, Missing 3DS VC and Wii U VC between regions, and Full of list first party Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Gear games missing from the 3DS VC.

All I care about is that it's built upon a custom chipset and not some cookie cutter zillion core processor like most contemporary systems.
That makes it unique in many ways, graphics included. A game optimized for the 3DS will look completely different to all other versions.
Like the DS, it's got its own style and I just love it!

Powerful enough for a handheld. Seriously, the graphics are as nice as I'd ever care about on a handheld device. A small screen doesn't need "HD" and already, growing up with a GB and GBC, I'm more than satisfied with its capabilities.

I'm not too picky about graphics though. If I did, I wouldn't be a Nintendo fan, I'd switch to Sony or Microsoft. I prefer Nintendo's innovation.

Feel free to add me on the Nintendo Network: ShadJV

I wish power determined quality software but it doesn't. If my opinion and Metacritic has anything to say, the 3DS' power isn't doing itself any justice.

It's supposedly more powerful than the Wii, but it's very close. The 3DS runs at a lower resolution than the Wii was capable of, giving the illusion that the Wii has better graphics quality.

That has nothing to do with my point.

Technically more powerful than the Wii, although sometimes it doesn't look it because much of that tech power is used for the whole 3D effect thing. But from what I can see, it's about the same power as far as graphics go.

I'm thinking maybe a little less than the Wii, which is very disappointing to me.

I honestly think it'll do more than the Wii, if given the time. Right now, the 3DS is almost 2 years old, whereas the Wii has gone through its life cycle of 6 years. It's already about matched it, and still has many years to go.

The 3DS has a ton more RAM than the Wii and It's faster too. More dedicated Video RAM than Wii. 2GB internal hard drive. Dedicated WIFI core for streetpass/spotpass so can transmit and recieve other game data even while playing online. Games can look as good or better than the Wii (or gamecube) and in FULL 3D without glasses. Oh.. AND it's powering a touchscreen too.

It's a beast.
