Anyone else here start out their life as a gamer with the home version of Pong?

I remember my parents buying us that for Christmas back in 1979. Pretty sure my mom got it at Sears. We played it constantly and were blown away by the fact that we had Pong in our house.

Yes, I did, back in the late '70s in Holland. We played it a lot too.

Yes, and when we weren't playing Pong I would pretend that it was a console on the U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701

Yeah, we had that- I think ours had hockey and maybe one other variation of Pong. A couple years later a friend of mine down the street got the 2600. Loved that Adventure game and of course space invaders..... I remember even a few years after that- how when PacMan was released for the 2600, what a big deal it was.

I guess I don't fit in with the 'older' older folks. Would of been amazing to have been around in 79' and getting a PONG for christmas. :D My adventure in gaming started out in 89' when my parents took me to the toy store, and got me an NES Action set + SMB/Duckhunt for my 5th birthday. :*
and my love for gaming hasn't stopped since....well, then again....I hit a few slumps during the Gamecube era. :P

I'm 38, I game since dawn of it and will keep on doing so.
I'm an avid PC gamer, own or have owned nearly every console/handheld, but consider the 3DS as the best gaming device in recent years.

The creative urge is the demon that will not accept anything second rate.

I'm 57 and started playing about 5-6 years ago when I was 51-52. I started out with a DS, progressed to a DSi, on to an XL (sure hope I have the correct order in the system), then to. 3DS and now I have that one and a 3DS XL. I'm playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Style Savvy, several Mario games with the newest one being the most recent one. I just ordered Smurfs 2 for myself for Christmas. Hadn't played anything even remotely considered a video game since Atari. So let my 29 year old daughter talk 'smack' because I play games most of my free time. That's because when you have small children, you have NO free time....ūüėĄ

I'm 30. Been playing games on Nintendo handhelds since I was 8 and never been letdown by one yet so it's only natural I'd get the 3DS.

I am 33 and have a 3DS XL on the way to go along with my Wii U and gaming PC. Other than a very short stint with a Game Boy Pocket, this will be the first handheld I have ever owned.

Wow. I just joined and posted to a friends code topic and I didn't think there were so many older gamers here! I'm a female gamer and none of my friends are into gaming except my husband. I started playing video games in the seventies. I had Head To Head football and Atari and also a cool watch that played PAC-Man. Anyway I'm 44 and I feel happy knowing there are fellow gamers out there that remember the olden days of gaming but still appreciate the new and exciting changes in the gaming landscape! I love games, comics, music, art, reading, science- fiction and fact. Feel free to add me as a friend since I'm a newbie in that department.

I'm only 16 but I've got a Nintendo collection exhaustive enough to include the Virtual Boy :D

I've been gaming for maybe 8 years now. I started with my cousin's copy of Super Mario World, got my own Game Boy and a copy of the cart, and never looked back. Metroid: Zero Mission is the game that really got me into the hobby. Sadly, very few people my age are into Ninty like I am. Some of my best friends are into gaming, both retro and modern.

I may have posted before but I'm 33 and I use my 3DS as my primary current generation console, though a Wii U is likely over the next month or so. I just love relaxing in my recliner and playing my 3DS for a few hours at a shot, time passes and the amount of fun I have with it is outstanding. It's truly the king of the video game market at the moment.
