The loose hinge came up a while back. I think it's normal for the 3DS to be a little wobbly for whatever reason — maybe it makes it harder to break if the hinge isn't so tight? I remember the Lite had a nice tight hinge but it had that nasty hinge-cracking problem if you pushed it open flat too often.

perhaps someone who has not yet purchased one t could buy one from a best buy, get a 40 dollar security, and then accidnetally on purpose try to break it in a myraid of diffrent ways, then get a brand new one from best buy! Maybe? oh and since I'm new feel free to add me to your freind list if you wish.
One time my friend dropped his DS Lite down a steep hill and it slid all the way down and hit a fire hydrant. The end result was horrific there were many pieces and bits lying about. I felt really sorry.

Well, my (original) DS was dropped and broken, my bro's DSi broke outta' nowhere (both screens were flickery, if anyone has advice, please post). My 3DS is VERY squeeky!!! My hinge squeeks when it closes, the circle pad squeeks when it moves, along with the buttons (except start, select, home, and power buttons).
I haven't dropped any of the game systems I've owned.
I do however have a friend that broke his DS when it first came out. He was talking about how sturdy the screens were or something. Then decided he had to prove it, even though no one asked him to. So he proved it by tapping the touch screen against his knee rather hard. He must have hit it at just the right angle or something because the touch screen broke.

I'm not clumsy. However, I had my 3DS in a small pocket on my sweater, hoping to get a streetpass opportunity. I went into the Target restroom and it fell, from about 5 feet, onto the hard tile floor. Thankfully, I can report the system still works flawlessly, and has no cracks or scratches. And, of course I used sanitizer to clean it.
The can is open, but the worms are surrounded by fish hooks. Current faves: Batman: Arkham City, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection
OH NO! I was in the friends thing and I touched close and it started to go back to the home, where it Says HOME Menu and then goes to it, my 3DS froze on HOME Menu thing. I shut down and had to restart to get back to the Home menu! =(. WHATS WRONG!?
