There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I will buy it day one if it = or is < $250. Otherwise I'll wait for the inevitable price drop/redesign, or like Super Smash Bros. 4 or something. Actually forget that; I will definitely buy a 3DS the day BIT.TRIP COLLECTION is announced/comes out.
...How are we supposed to know how it meets our expectations before we even play the **** thing? That seems a tad preemptive...
Good point, what I meant in my topic was "Has Nintendo told you what you wanted to hear?", although I did make it read as if I asked "How much fun have you had playing the 3DS?" thanks for pointing that out.

It's better than I expected. Even the tech, since I wasn't one of those people expecting it to be more powerful than the Gamecube, which it clearly isn't.
In some ways it isn't, but in other ways it's much more powerful than any system that isn't the PS3/360.
That lighting isn't possible on the other non-HD systems and the texture resolution and amount of polygons are comparable to last gen systems. Metal Gear Solid 3 also looks better than the original PS2 version, especially in the regards to the character models which Kojima said are closer to MGS4 character models. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf6hRFXlQco
Very interesting and still better than I expected. I was mostly refering to a few people who were arguing over whether or not the 3DS was more powerful than the Xbox (not relevent to this site), the results of which left me royally peeved.

Oh, and where the hell did you get those gifs?
Xbox 360 or the original Xbox? Because it's apparently closest to the original Xbox out of all systems, bit better shading but proper pushing less polygons.
Someone on Neogaf made those Gifs out of the footage from the 3DS software reel. They sure are pretty.

There are still so many smaller details that I need to know about. Is matchmaking faster? What about friend codes? How much can the system truly multitask? Can I download a game while playing one? Will Streetpass work while actually playing a game (that kinda goes with my multitasking question)? What will be the 2D/3D VC game ratio or will they all be 3D?
Overall I was really blown away by the announcements though.

Excellent questions. Sadly, I predict the answers will be "not much", "no", and "no". I think everything will be done by suspending whatever is running rather than actually multitasking. I hope I'm wrong, of course.
If you saw the video of the conference, they never once showed any StreetPass or SpotPass interaction taking place while the 3DS was open. The 3DS was always closed inside someone's bag or sitting closed on its charging cradle at home. If it worked while playing a game, I think they would have shown at least one example of it. Again: I hope I'm wrong.

I disagree. I think the answers are "a decent amount," "yes," and "yes." In the Super Street Fighter 4 3DS video, it showed the 3DS's connecting even as the people were playing. Maybe it won't work the same way for StreetPass, but have a feeling it will. Meanwhile, I don't see what about the Multitasking could really be so limited, and I don't see why downloading a game while playing one wouldn't work, but I guess we'll know eventually.

I doubt it'll do a save state because Iwata said that the OS will be deactivated when playing DS games because they're not built for it and a save state would be able to be implemented to games that weren't built for it(like the PSP does and Wii VC games) but it wouldn't work with full multitasking(like the 360). That's just my guess though.

Um we will have to wait and see. Um sir the 3DS has not come out yet! So you might just want to wait and ask until we have bought it.
The only thing I will say is I'M TOTALLY BUYING IT.

So many Awesome video games coming out this year! So many games so little money! Crap!
I didn't expect there to be Mii creater, DSiWare transfer, or VC. I really thought it would be too good to be true. But it's true!

Probably "Not at all", "No", and "Yes". They've said StreetPass works when playing another game. They also said something like they wanted to be able to pause playing a game to go do something else without having to reset the system. I suspect, yet again, that the 3DS is simply a portable Wii with 3D graphics. So it's like using the Home button on the Wii. During VC play, when you go back, it'll put you right where you were. So I don't expect it'll multitask at all, but neither will you be stuck in one task until you reset.
Me, I'm more curious how the 3DS will handle media. Will 3DS Sound be any more advanced than DSi Sound? Will they allow playing of an H.264 MP4 video file from the SD card? Will they display a text file (or, dare I dream, a .mobi?) from the SD card? Will you be able to snap a 3D photo on your 3DS and then mail it to a friend's 3DS? Will they figure out a way to print out the stereoscopic photos for viewing on a stereoscope (sold separately, mo' money!)?
Too many questions, not enough answers, and it's all still in flux.
