After seeing some pokemon on my friends emulator i decided i wanted to buy myself the new 3ds. My main interest is of course the pokemon games.
However i could not understand how do you load games into your 3ds..
Is it some sort of cartridge or download only? And if so are the games Soul Silver and X Y available on the eshop? I could not understand from Nintendo's website.
You can buy a physical copy of the games in cartridge form that inserts into the back of the console, or you can download the digital versions (of which Pokemon are available).

Just to clarify, only the 3DS pokemon games ( X, Y, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire) are available to download off the eShop. All the DS pokemon games need to be purchased as a physical cartridge.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
and in addition to that, you can only play games from 4 to 6 gen- you can play diamond, pearl, platinum and soul silver (and also black and white and what came after), but emerald and the older games from gen 3 and below wont work
the physical games save on the cartridge and digital games save on the SD card.
here's where you can find some games that are on the eshop. http://www.nintendo.com/eshop/
