How do you know if you got friend requested if you didnt send someone a friend request back? Thats my question and if you wanna friend me, just let me know with your 3ds FC!
Someone will tell you they added your friend code, and then after you both added your codes you will be friends. You cannot tell them on your 3ds you added them, because you would need to be friends to talk on 3ds. So they will tell you in a thread they added you, and then add their fc back. I hope this answers your questions.

its pretty silly the way this works. I just got my 3DS and i am amazed that they havent come up with a better system for adding friends - how about sending me a notification that someone wants to add me!?!
