I've caught some Pumpkaboo that I think may be large or super sized, but I can't figure out how to tell for sure. I know there's someone in Dendeville Town that can identify super sized Gorgeist, but is there any way to check Pumpkaboo's size without evolving it other than eyeballing it in battle?

super size p-boos will always be holding a miracle seed when found in the wild. easiest way to catch one if you're going for super size is to put a pokémon with frisk at the front of your party so u'll know immediately without having to waste time catching large ones. they're also pretty rare so expect it to take a while.
edit: also, only average size shows up in friend safari so don't waste your time there
