Seriously, I've heard people ask me, "Have you heard about the 3DS? It has 3D WITHOUT glasses! Isn't that cool?" Have they been under a rock this past year?
There was this one person the other day in my Comp 1 class looking up things to write a report about, and he was like, "Wow! Look at this: They've invented something with which you can see 3D without glasses!" My reaction: >_____>

Guys, just cuz the mainstream doesn't follow game tech like you do doesn't mean they just crawled out of a rock. That's saved for more...mainstream things.
@cyphid I thought game preorders guaranteed you get the game at launch. I mean you paid the deposit and everything right? It sounds pretty unfair that they'd give your copy to someone else.
@JesusSaves Is that 4 million figure including preorders? I wonder how many preorders have been placed. Yeah, I don't think the 3DS will sell as fast as the DS or Wii did considering the price. Chart time!

I don't see why the shortages would be as bad as the ones in Japan for several reasons. First of all, Nintendo would've had 2 additional months of manufacturing time come launch day. Also, Nintendo is based in Japan. This means that they're more widspread there. That also has to do with advertising. I'm sure that there are way more 3DS ads in Japan than Europe or the US. As a matter of fact, I have yet to have even heard about the 3DS on any mainstream media. Obviously there will still most likely be shortages, but not as bad (or atleast I hope not) However, I know I'll be picking mine up at midnight on launch day regardless.

I hope there is a midnight launch for the 3DS @ my Gamestop. It would be the FIRST time I go to a midnight launch- as well as the first time I ever pre-ordered a console and the first time I get a console on launch day. Dang.. Lotsa pressure on me... Not really
