I UNDERSTAND THERE'S A FORUM ON THIS MATTER BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT — I'm not going to say anything on how I feel, I'm going to wait until someone response.

Okay, first off, that guy was incredibly boring.

But in regards to the topic at hand, he missed a different point. N3DS-developed games are the very same format as 3DS, and, technically speaking, would be fully compatible with the current models - the only roadblock is the CPU. Not even the buttons! You can get those from a CPP! It's just that slightly better CPU that no 3DS owner has access to.
All other new handhelds offered more than just better speed: an improved engine, more colors, higher resolution, new input methods, a better consumer-end system... the list goes on, but the thing is that this is the very first time Nintendo released a faster version of their own console.

And while everyone should measure on their own whether that's worth it or not, I feel very pressured to buy one for Xenoblade 3D. Xenoblade is one of the greatest RPG's of modern times, and it's my favourite Wii title BY FAR! And even though I played through it already, I'd love to buy it again out of sheer admiration for Monolith Soft! But Nintendo steps in there with a big grinch smile and an N3DS in hand.

Making a mountain out of a molehill. Honestly, we don't know how many games will actually be exclusive to this new 3DS. Just because one exclusive was announced (and this exclusive being a port, at that) does not mean many of Nintendo's other first-party games will be exclusive to the new 3DS. It's too soon to say whether it will exclusively receive new games (besides Xenoblade) or if it will just make some games play better (Smash Bros, Monster Hunter, etc).

People will keep making a big deal out of this until the thing has been out for some years and no big evil master plan to replace the 3DS happened.

He doesn't speak for me when he says it's a slap in the face to Nintendo fans. Home consoles have always been my thing yet even I noticed that the handheld space always gets revisions and/or upgrades, so it was expected.

This youtube video sums it up best.

WARNING - strong language in places.

I have been rolled on the ambassidor program price drop and the surprise 3DSXL announcement after having just bought another 3DS.

Ditto. It's bloody annoying! I'll probably buy it just for that game too. It's kinda a weird game to promote it with though. It didn't really sell that well.

I agree with the guy in the video, people buy consoles to avoid dealing with hardware fragmentation, bringing hardware fragmentation into consoles its always a bad idea....... You either stick with your system or release a new system that is a true upgrade.... releasing a minor upgrade of the current system that nonetheless is essential to play some games is a bad idea.....

If they only release the Nu3DS exclusive games on the Nu3DS eShop, then it's no different from the DSi where the only thing you were missing was the DSiWare and it was all out of sight and out of mind for DS owners, and the stuff we actually got for DSiWare hardly made a DSi worth upgrading to to be honest, so I kind of have a feeling 3DS owners won't be missing out on too much if they choose not to upgrade. It was more maddening to have the 3DS come out so soon after the DSi with no big games ever even made for the DSi. Perhaps the Nu3DS will be like the DSi and not really have much potential before it just becomes overshadowed by a revolutionary new system, in which case you're better off waiting a couple more years for the new system that will no doubt be backwards compatible with the Nu3DS games anyway.

That's not true, it sold more in North America and Europe alone than in Japan. .41m North america, ..23 Europe and .16 in Japan. If anything they should be releasing it as an exclusive in the west!

By his logic all we need is a New 3DS exclusive eshop games and everything will be fine. Boy are people blowing this so far out of proportion it's amazing, Xenoblade Chronicles most likely was not able to run at a satisfactory level on 3DS which is why they made it a New 3DS exclusive we don't know how many games will be exclusive to New 3DS but seeing as companies like money it will probably be a handful. On the topic of extra buttons and amiibo figures, buy a circle pad pro and then get a portal job done.

I've watched Reviewtechusa for a year and a half now, and I can say he knows well about the industry and I've learned alot listening from him.
With that said, his logic is slightly flawed. The new 3DS does piss owners off. But I think he fails to look into the future and see that those that buy the new 3DS will be more pissed off in a few years. Because I think it's fair to say that in less than 3 years we will be anticipating the 3DS' true successor, that can run all the games that were exclusive the the New 3DS.
