Topic: Has anyone noticed this?

On http://e3.nintendo.com/3ds/ in Features under Input/Output it says it will have a charging cradle terminal? I thought that would be weird to have why add another port when you can just buy one of those cheap charging cradles?

if i'm reading your question right, i'm guessing they added both because it's hard to play something when it's stuck in a charging cradle, and not everyone will want to use an AC adapter? or it could be because they plan to add more music playing functionality or something, and they want people to be able to plug it into a cradle/dock device? idk, just throwing that out there :3

sounds like mp3/AACs might be a more prevalent feature!

Well if that's true I may not need a new MP3 Player. (mine broke today) I can go without a portable music player for a while.

I've been wondering what this is. Could it maybe be this port, and if it's mounted like traditional charging docks a... projector?

I saw a picture of someone testing it out and they had headphones plugged in there and the other color on the bottom looks like a cover of some sort.

Yeah, after just seeing some close-ups, I can see the port in back. Oh well, a headphones port in the center is nice.

I'm a little bit late coming into all these posts ... so this might have been talked about elsewhere and I missed it. But in this picture it looks like it's showing 2 cameras on the outside cover? Is that right?

Yeah, 1 camera on the inside and 2 on the outside. The two outside cameras can be used for taking 3d pictures.

I hate that the camera isn't going to improve. Haven't Nintendo learned their lesson on this with the DSi? I mean, the cost of the technology has SURELY come down... can't they make it at least a 2-3 megapixel camera?

I'd be happy with 1.2MP. 0.3 is stupid, at least for the outside cameras. 3D pictures are awesome but when the quality sucks so much it doesn't matter...Not that it DOES matter since the pictures are in 3D and if it's like the DSi you can't really do anything with those pictures other than keep them on the device. Maybe Facebook but who really used that feature?

@roops: half the deal with the camera now is posting pics to Facebook, but facebook pics from the DSi are reeeeeally hit-or-miss because the DSi camera isn't that great. I can get better pics off my phone than the DSi, lol, and my phone is at least three or four years older than my DSi. that's why we want a better camera for the 3ds, lol.

I daren't stare at the 3DS for too long, I'll go blind.

There is one way... What I really hate about my DSI is that any application that save the album (including the camera itself) save the images at a lower quality (Maybe 75% or 60% quality), So hopefully now, the 3DS will save images at 100% quality so it can look better than the DSI.

At the same link I posted there is a picture of a charging cradle and from what I've seen the 3DS has the same places the top screen clicks into place on the DSiXL and the Cradle is at just the right angle to make the screen straight.
