I will not play again until the season changes, and my perfect town rots away. The villagers will want to leave the overgrown landscape, and then they will get replaced with scavengers. The only structure that will remain pleasant in appearance is the mayor's castle, evidence historians will use to prove that this filthy, weed consumed land was once prosperous. The Mayor will forever remain inside this castle, silently enjoying the decay of the world he built. The businesses will die, the buildings will crumble, and the only creature willing to appear in the plaza will be a nefarious, underhanded fox. Joville will not be jovial for much longer.

I abandoned my town in early July. I was having fun putting all of my effort into public works in order to improve the town and try to avoid the hyper Capitalism themes of the game. Eventually, the townspeople all started confronting me and bullying me into being more Capitalist so I quit.

Wow, I can't believe how many people have given up on their towns. Its actually quite surprising to be honest... I thought more people would be trying to make the perfect town, not give up mid-July. :/

what!?!?!?! the game reached such a high level that the characters have the human trait of getting angry at those who don't agree!?!?!??!?!?!
seems like a very refined experience. I NEED this game! and my first town will be test of using an ideology different from the villagers to see if something cool and big happens! and in the second one(after the first one becomes a train wreck ) I'll play right because I like doing things right....

My life got super crazy hectic over the last month and I lost the time to do anything on AC:NL except dig up some fossils. And then I stopped doing that too, for a while. When you're not making a steady stream of bells with new developments to look forward to, the game does start to slow down a lot.
I went back to my town last night and wondered what I was supposed to be doing. And then I turned it off and played something else
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
I'm still playing roughly an hour a day. I played for about three hours today and made quite a bit of progress. Last Saturday, I did a lot of things such as building my paths and clearing the area. I also gathered all my flowers and put in right next to my house. There's always something to do and, (I checked earlier today) I have just over 120 hours played on New Leaf.
I have 765 hours logged into the game so far. So no have not lost interest in the game yet lol. Plus 4 houses to totally customize & putting the blue camel to work 24/7 lol with customizing all different types of furniture plus online nah sorry just not bored yet.
Happy Gaming! (^_^)
According to my calculator, between now and the release date, there were about 1944 entire hours between June 10 and August 30. This means that must have played at least NINE hours of Animal Crossing New Leaf A DAY according, also according to my calculator. That's some life you have there.

KIU came out a year ago and I have around 340-360 hours. It's my favorite game ever, it's been out like, 5-6 times longer, and you've played it over twice as much as I've played KIU?! According to my 3DS last year I played about 850 hours too. Just... wow.

Does the 3DS track hours when a game is in sleep mode? That's the only thing I could think of...

There's no need for that. What she (or anyone) chooses to do with their life is her (or their) business. Leave it at that, please.
There's also the matter of being judgmental toward someone because they play too many video games...while commenting on a video game site. But I'll let that one slide.
My problem with ACNL 3D is that the game gets fustrating after a while. At first, I REALLY loved this game. Heck, I still love it. I used to play this game like crazy. I would go to the island and rack up tons of cash. But... thats the problem. Upgrading homes, the stores on the Main Street, and even buying furniture just takes up too much money/Bells. I dunno why Nintendo thought it was a great idea to make everything so expensive as you keep upgrading. The huge amount of my debt to Tom Nook has actually started pushing me AWAY from the game. I can't help but think: "If I was a kid... I would be like: 'How the heck am I gonna rack up all this cash? I gotta go back to the island at night AGAIN?". HOWEVER... I feel obligated to play this game because I luv the villagers of my town. ACNL 3D is still a great game. I luv listening ot K.K. on Saturdays and briefly playing for 20 minutes every now and then.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!
