The art style for this seems a bit soulless, the characters seem to be for the empty bland environments they seem to inhabit and look better in the art work shots. That just could be were not viewing it on a native screen. Despite that Natsume has my money for trying something new with the series instead of making a clone of the Marvelous games. Hopefully this game does enough and we see a sequel on Wii U and hopefully seen a rune factory spiritual successor. (though Fantasy Life should fill that void.)

Man, nobody at GFAQs seem to want this game. I'd rather get this game than the true HM game, because this one at least tries to change the HM gameplay a bit. SoS doesn't look any different than previous HM games. ToTT is good enough for me for classic HM gameplay.
Man, now someone chooses to argue with me just because I said I am more interested in this game. I dunno why people wanna argue all the time if they don't agree with you.
Many people are in auto-hate mode when it comes to this game. It's because they have the mindset that Natsume is a traitor and the epitome of bad and evil because of the current situation, so everything about the game looks and sounds like moomoo-poopoo for them, even if it makes no sense.
At the same time, they are in auto-love mode with SoS. There's nothing wrong with wanting to support Marvelous and xseed, but they are kinda on the extremist side right now.
It's best if you simply ignore them for now, they will calm down later.
I'm really liking the style! then again, I'm REALLY easy to please when it comes to videogames

When my mom bought me HM64 I really hated it for the art style in the box. It is a game for girls, I said. Me and my brother ended up addicted to it that same day.
So I learned to disregard childish styles.
It's still not as bad as Magical Melody's character design though.
They need to make the eyes a little smaller and the bodies much wider. As it stands, it's pretty ugly even for chibi style. Hopefully they'll listen and adjust some things. It's style isn't too bad, really, it's just they're trying waaay too hard on the chibi character designs.
Graphical style/aesthetics don't really bother me that much. As long as it's a good game and fun to play, the characters could be talking vegetables for all I care. There are some genres that I'd prefer to be in a specific style, though, although that has no bearing on the games themselves.
I haven't seen enough of either to say for certain. SoS is the safe bet, but LV could be a really good (or disasterous) experiment setting itself from the pack.
I'm not all that interested in SoS. Not even when it was announced in Japan. ANB was very boring and the whole "keep a zoo and fight for land" thing in SoS doesn't interest me.
With this one I am cautiously positive. I like the minecrafty looks and the setting so I want this one to be fun.
I said it several times already here. I'm more interested in The Lost Valley. The HM series is kinda getting stale for me, and TLV looks like it's going to be adding some neat new tricks to spice things up a bit. The only issue is Natsume's track record with localizing the true HM's. Typos and programming errors galore.
SoS may be a good game, but it looks too similar to AnB which I've never played. I didn't get AnB because it didn't look too interesting (other than the return of adorable alpacas) and I already have ToTT.
i wish they would slow time up a bit from the 1 sec = 1 minute and stop it when you are in a building.
i wanted to love ANB soooo much but it started so slowly and i felt overwhelmed by everything the character was expected to do. add in the rabid trading going on online for things that people weren't even close to having worked for in the game and it all lost meaning for me rather quickly. i like AToTT and had a farm in both villages which is most likely why i want time slowed down a wee bit, lol.
i am torn on the art in this one: it's a bit too quirky for my taste, yet if it plays good i can tolerate it. unless either SoS or TLV gets horrible reviews i will most likely end up with both anyways.
