That's exactly what I regard this year as, year of the great 3DS. I just feel so much closer to it now that I'm living in the same year that it will be unleashed! Just 3-4 months to go y'all!!!

Wow, if you think about it, the Nintendo 3DS releases NEXT MONTH in Japan! In North America and Europe, it will be out for sure (if no delays) within 3 months. We have waited for it since last February, so we are almost there.

It will definitly change your eyes forever(in a bad way) if you're under 6 years old or will cause some bad eye strain if you game for over 30 minutes on it. lol

30 minutes to be exact, that's just Nintendo playing it safe just to cover their asses of course. :p
But really, to take a break every 30 minutes would be annoying if they are infact being super serious about it. Usually I like to game for 2 hours to 2 1/2 at the most and that's it for the day as far as gaming goes. I don't take breaks, because I don't game fo long periods of time...My eyes start to get gooey after that amount of time, i start to feel crappy, the experience begins to feel a bit altered and I start feeling alittle inpatient and don't exactly savour the experience as much as I should.

Hmm, I see it more as the year of sequels.

Here's some from the top of my head -

  • Uncharted 3
  • Killzone 3
  • Infamous 2
  • LBP2
  • MvC3
  • Dead Space 2
  • Portal 2
  • The Conduit 2
  • de Blob 2
  • Deus Ex 3
  • Bit.Trip FLUX
  • not to mention 3 DS

of course 'from the top of my head' really means 'google search'

Wow, that's a lot O.o I could also say Lego Star Wars III or maybe Gears of War 3, but I don't give a shroom about either.

Well, it'll change our lives until the next video game system comes out. ;) Not sure if anything will ever be as life-changing as the original NES. It was so many light years ahead of anything I'd ever played before that it was like playing a video game for the first time. I do expect the 3DS to be revolutionary, though, in ways I'm not yet even sure of. 3D, unique uses of the camera, VC. Would make it pretty life-changing to someday play games from Game Gear and Wonderswan that I never expected the chance to play.

I agree. I often game for at least an hour at a time. And unless there was some sort of message or alarm which popped up every 30 minutes, I'd forget to take a break. And then I'd get pretty mad at that message appearing all the time. :P

Yesterday I met up with a few friends and brought my Wii (first time playing it with 4+ people!) and we played almost non-stop for 7 hours. :o It was immensely fun. We only played like 3 games in that time, even though I had more on hand - Trauma Team, Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. The time flew by and I couldn't imagine how much the mood would have been ruined if we had to stop every 30 minutes.

My limit would probably be 4 hour tops after that I NEED to take a break but I have overshot that everyonce in a while, but I usually play my games for at least an hour before I drop 'em so that 30 min rule is gonna piss me off a bit

Thank God! We've been blessed to live in the Year of 3D! 3DS, plus a the majority of television channels are going to go 3D and a vast armada of 3D televisions are on the way along with rumors of a 3D iPad and iPod Touch.

Are you serious? I sat at Avatar for 4 hours in 3D and was alright, and 3D TV would fail if that was true. Unless game devs are being complete asses or just havent realiZed with 3D you need to make wide shots and avoid fast changing angles and such.

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
