The best choice is just to ask for a $20-$30 steam gift card and wait until the summer sale. You'd be able to get the entire assassin's creed series for that price.

This is a very good idea. Get a steam gift card with as much on it as possible, put some games on your wish list ( it sends you e-mails if a game on there goes on sale), and play the waiting game.

then why don't you get the money first and think about what to get later? still better than buying either one in a hurry while still unsure if you made the right choice.

I would say Mario Kart 7 for $30. Mario games don't go down I n price very often while Assassin's Creed will probably be $3 during the next big sale. (Websites normally have sales on the same games Steam has sales on during their special sales, so if you don't want to use Steam you can probably still get it on PC for a lot less than $20)
No.
I'd rank AC3 as in the middle of the AC series ("worse" than AC2 and AC2: Revelations, but better than AC1 and AC2: Brotherhood; I haven't played AC4 or any of the handheld games). Also, if you like American history of the Revolution-era, it is cool to play during that time frame.
MK7 is a great game, and this is coming from someone who doesn't really like the MK games and absolutely sucks at them (any of my NL brethren who've played with me can attest to that fact ).
I haven't played ACIII, but I will say that MK7 is my most played game at over 200 hours. Had I not lost it a year and a half ago, I'd still enjoy it today and probably would have added another 200 hours to that game.
here goes my last hint(maybe)
always have other options, so in the case you don't find a game you can get the other, though I doubt the shops run out of games that aren't exactly new(but aren't old either) in US...
