So it's my birthday today and my my dad asked me if I want anything but I can't decide. Should I get Mario Kart 7 for $30 or Assassin's Creed 3 PC for $20?
Be honest! (I know this a Nintendo based website)

Keep in mind Mario Kart is more expensive, so if that $10 doesn't carry over to something else, I would go with that, as it will be easier to buy AC3 yourself yourself later.

Mario Kart 8. It's new and more expensive

The question is if Assassin's Creed III is any good?

2. I will never be able to get one

I agree. Ask for Mario Kart 7, so you won't have to pay more on your own to get Assassin's Creed 3 when you're ready.

The thing is, I can't really pay for my own stuff. (Don't ask why)

I haven't played AC3, but I have MK7, and I can say it's totally worth getting that. Especially considering MK8 is coming out, and I can safely assume the majority on here are bound to get that sooner or later, so MK7 is a nice "warm-up", in a way, toward MK8. Overall, it's just a great racer. It's tight, the controls are perfect, and what else is there to say...it's Mario Kart however, it is a bit bare bones compared to the other games in the series, as the options are limited in how you can set up races / items...etc.

Like I said, I haven't played the other game, so I honestly can't say more than merely what I know about MK7, and what I know (from my preferences at least), is that MK7 is simply awesome and plain fun, and you can't go wrong with it (if you've enjoyed any other Mario Kart at least). I'm sure it also has more replay value than Assassin's Creed. But in the end, you gotta know for yourself, what you prefer and what you feel like playing / going through more at the moment. These are two completely different genres with completely different ways of playing them (accessibility-wise).

Oh, and Happy B-Day

I think it does. But it really all comes down to what you like. AC3, while it is a good game, didn't have much replay value aside from side quests and exploring the open world for me at least.

To be brutally honest, it depends. The track selections is nice, but the floaty controls and lack of challenge tend to diminish the fun when you're alone. The best way to enjoy MK7 is online, so if you're out for that, I'd say get it.

But if that's not really your thing, ACIII has a somewhat more content to offer, as well as a more unique experience.

MK7 is a fantastic racer with some great track selections and extremely solid online multiplayer. I'm not a huge fan of most of the other game modes, but it is still a stellar game.

There are a good number of unlockables and such, so even if you don't play online, it still has replay value.

Yeah, especially after you beat the main game...

This. Assassisn's Creed 3 is the worst in the series, and you could probably get it for cheaper if you wait a little longer. I got it for $10 on PSN a few months ago.

And Mario Kart 7 doesn't seem to have much over any of the Previous games. Mario Kart 8 is at least trying some newish things...and lets you turn off Blue shells...
