I have very weak eyes so playing games on a small screen will only hasten my eventual need for prescription eyeglasses or contacts so I try to avoid purchasing 3DS games that require long gameplay sessions. It's also why I'll sadly have to pass on MH4U...so are there any good RPG's that you can typically quit and save your progress within an hour at most if not all times? I try to limit my sessions to under an hour at a time so RPG's with save points "unless the save points are numerous and close-between" won't work for me...
Thanks for the suggestion, but I already have that game, as well as Tales of The Abyss 3D. I had ToTA for the PS2 so I know that game inside and out so I can plan my gaming sessions accordingly.
Not true, the more difficult G Rank quests can take as long as 50 minutes to solo "based on my experience with the Wii U version" Plus some of the elder dragon's are near-impossible to beat solo such as the Hollowed Jhen and Abyssal Lagiacruz...I have somehow managed to solo Goldbeard and Dire, but with only seconds to spare. :/

True, and it's not a RPG game anyway.
Pokemon?
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

Pokemon?
It is in a way. MH3U is just in the Action-RPG sub-genre.
Also I will eventually get one of the Pokemon games for the 3DS, but I'm still enjoying Platinum! I usually only purchase one handheld Pokemon title per handheld generation.
Demon King Box. A single battle takes 5 minutes, at most.
Or Crimson Shroud, though you'd do well to write down what you were going for before quitting ,since it's easy to lose track.
A third suggestion would be Project X Zone, since you can quicksave at any point, and the story really isn't worth fussing over.
Shin Megami Tensei IV is good for that, as it allows you to save absolutely anywhere you like. It also does a very good job of retaining past "updates" for your quests, so you can remember what you've done and what you need to do next.
It's by no means easy, but it's probably my favorite RPG on the system, and only rarely have I had a chance to play it for more than an hour at a time. It should suit that nicely, and it seems to always go on sale in the eshop.
Paper Mario Sticker Star* is pretty good if you think you're up to solving some old school adventure game logic**.
*Lower your expectations of it being Paper Mario game you'll end sort of end up enjoying it in the long run. Music and visuals are pretty good, the battle mechanics despite being sort of pointless are still fun, and the game is divided up into levels make it easy to through them if you know what you're doing.
**Have a guide ready on your phone.

Was actually coming here to say, but feared I might get called crazy Glad to see I'm not the only one that loves SMTIV for shorter secessions. Its a great game, pretty bloody hard like Phil said, but man is it rewarding. If you want a dark, mature JRPG, there really is only one other option on the 3DS; Shin Megami Tensei Soul Hackers (which I have yet to play and can't give any recommendations, but it looks kinda decent). If you need something less heavy and lighthearted, Pokemon is the way to go. (I'm a bit biased towards Alpha Sapphire, but X & Y are both excellent) Either way enjoy, 3DS is turning into a fine RPG machine, not as many as the DS, but almost all are high quality RPGs!
Formally Square-enixFan, Neo-GeoFan. A lover of fine games and handheld systems!!!!!!!!!! The New 3DS XL is amazing, soon the NX will be upon us! Backloggery Check my Youtube channel out! http://www.youtube.com/user/Ha...

Etrian Oddyssey 4.
It's super difficult, but you can get a lot done in an hour.
Or you can die and get absolutely nothing done because you have to reload...
But the game is very fun!
