Whenever I'm at home, should I just plug my 3DS/DS/GBASP into the charger without the battery if I'm playing? So does that mean I have to unscrew my battery since it's not like the PSP/Vita where I can take out the battery as I see fit. I figured using the battery is draining its lifespan.
Also, is throwing my empty battery in the storage a good idea? Or should I charge the battery a bit (not to max)?
This is how I use my laptop as well. It would've been nice if I figured this out in 2006.
Also, I plug my Wii/U into my powerbar, and whenever I'm not using it, I turn the power bar switch off. Should I unplug the power bar itself as well?

I've never powered a 3DS/DS/GBA with just the power cord without the battery... I'm not even sure if it works...

The battery is going to drain after so many charges and uses, so there's very little you can do about that anyway, other than change batteries I suppose.

Batteries are generally terrible anyway, they hardly stay charged for long anymore. And they want cars to run on them... ha...

I know, I just want to know how to maximize its lifespan.

Doing all that might give you extra time but not really worth it in the long run

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I just want to know how to do it. As in if I want to store it for long periods of time should I charge it or not? Also, Nintendo says to charge every 6 months, is that true?

Because if I'm storing a battery, I figure it'll drain anyway so it shouldn't have to go through that.

Case in point, how should I store a battery by itself? How should I store a battery along with the system?

In something so it doesn't get broken or exposed to extreme heat or cold. Beyond that, it doesn't matter.

By the way, is it possible for ac adapters to get damaged themselves?

I think you're worrying too much. Better to keep the battery in your 3DS even if you are connected to a power outlet, just in case of a power outage disrupting your game. I actually have a UPS for my Wii U even, just so my system can make it through small power blips or I have the chance to save and power it down properly in the event of a true outage. The Wii U uses very little power in standby, and you might screw things up if you accidentally switch off the power bar when the light turns orange after you turn it off, so I don't know if you really want to be flicking off your power bar every time you power it down. If you really do want to have it off, just flicking off the power bar is sufficient though.
