Topic: GameStop has the systems!

For all the little nasty rumors going around about there being shortages, my gamestop i pre ordered at and the one across the street have their systems. BUT they only have pre orders. No extra systems. They also mentioned that Nintendo is estimating a mid july second shipment for anyone who did not pre order.

I'm calling my local Gamestop every day from now until launch day to see if they have them yet.

Your right, but those gamestops that said they did not get enough are getting a second shipment tomorrow. There was some sort of mistake with dispatch in the US. But if you want a 3ds, your best bet is to check out a big box store like target or bestbuy, it seems that the 3ds release is centered around more the gaming stores like gamestop, game and gamestation in the UK and Amazon.

Mid-July? Seriously? Unless there's a component they need from Japan, I can't imagine they won't be producing these things continuously. Glad I pre-ordered a system just in case there are shortages for a while.

The chips are made in Japan, like i stated above, they were close to the earth quake and the nuke site. Thats most likely the hold up.

That's too bad. I haven't even really thought of how long it's potentially going to take Japan to recover to normal.

So can you pick up your pre-order now or do you have to wait for the 27th? lol

Its times like this that make me wish I was a Gamestop manager. I could just casually sneak one of those systems away for myself a few days early :3

Here in the UK, I've heard it'll be a few weeks before the second shipment; a few months is unheard of. I think you'll be looking at another delivery into the country around April/May, not July

That being said - I'm sure these things will be shipped fairly continuously (though we'll still probably see shortages, that's just how it goes).
