I wish Nintendo would stop making sections based on opinions. This particular section's name was amusing, but sections based on some famous athlete's opinions and the like are not helpful at all.
@KomicZ I was thinking the same thing yesterday, download movies as an app on to your 3DS, something like the trailer videos. You can review the movie, get the information on the movie along with shots of it and a trailer for you to watch. But I fear it might be too big for the eShop/3DS to handle and it might take a while to download.
Anyways, on-topic, I don't have anything like that on my eShop. Kinda weird Ninty would put that up though... surely they'd want to get money from any game whether it sucked or not.
No point in having individual downloadable movies, that's what Netflix and Hulu are for.
Can I say something?
What if I don't want to pay so many dollars/pounds for all those movies that I might never watch or might not even be interested in... when I can simply pay 2-5 dollars/pounds for one movie that I REALLY like and can watch countless times?

Then why have Netflix and Huku in the freaking first place? If movies were going to be sold on the eShop, then why would Netflix and Hulu make apps for movies You sir, make no sense
You forgot to see this thing right here: Not everyone has access to Netflix and Hulu for their 3DS. >_> cougheuropecough
Makes sense now eh? Also I see nothing wrong with downloading a single movie, especially for people who might not want to subscribe to a service. Also, I don't really see how that knocks out Netflix and Hulu... there's still people who would rather use Netflix/Hulu. This is just a secondary option.
And, might I add, that before the 3DS was released they did say you could buy movies and put them on your 3DS. The method was not specified, however if you can buy videos on the eShop then why not movies? And, as @xDemon720x said, many people do not have nor want a Netflix or Hulu (by the way, @pntjr, it's "Hulu" not "Huku") paid subscription. Or perhaps they just want this one movie. It's fairly logical when you think about it, really.
I really think the eShop needs a complete overhaul. It's too cluttered with all those useless categories filling the screen. It makes it much harder to search for stuff. Nintendo should make it simple and just have 3 main sections:
3DS software
Virtual Console games
DSiWare software
Just like the Wii Shop. Clean and unobtrusive.
And Virtual Console games should be grouped by platform, like they are on the Wii.

Yes because the wii shop channel is a huge success....
I liked the e-shop at first but it does need an overhaul. Im thinking tabs, zooming, and a more detailed upper screen. Thats what i want atleast.

I would say something witty about how Nintendo needs to admit to their problems before fixing them, but I'll let Waltzelf handle that.
Also, News Flash: the 3DS is not getting downloadable movies. A movie and just the movie takes up tons of space, upwards of 4 Gigabytes, which the 3DS will probably never have. Now, I can potentially see TV shows being put up a la iTunes where you can buy an episode for a dollar or few, but the eShop will probably never have a full-length feature on it.
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar. Please contact me before using my custom avatar!

@V8_Ninja That's the only problem with it. However there are some people who have upwards of 24GB SD cards (I think) who could hold that kind of movie, but it will eat up quite a lot of space nonetheless. I'm sure TV shows will be possible since they're a lot smaller in comparison to a movie. But you never know, movies might come along at some point, maybe not now, but maybe in the future, can't shoot it down all together.
I find the eShop fine as it is. It's got some nice little banners where you can find this and that, but yes it is quite cluttered with stuff here and there. The seach is a lot better now since you can go through searching for specific titles under either DSiWare, 3DS (download), 3DS (card), Virtual Console etc. along with what genre you're looking for. Pretty simple.
But yeah, I think it could be a little bit better, but as of now, I like it the way it is.
