Topic: Game Breaking Glitch in Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward

I wanted to inform you all of a glitch in Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward that prevented me from loading my save data. I'm going to try not spoil anything for you guys, but here's how it happened:
After going through the initial events of the game, I paired up with Tenmioji at the blue door (I think that's what door it was, anyway. I might be wrong, but I definitely went with Tenmiyoji). After all the stuff in between, I paired up with him again, except this time I was forced in a pair with Clover instead of Phi. Once we got into the puzzle sequence of the room we were in, I saved the game. After trying to reload it (due to the game freezing), the game would go to a black screen that would last indefinitely.
Now, the problem here seems to be with saving in that room, not with the game freezing (that seems to be a case specific to me). Others seem to be having this problem as well. I just want to make sure you all know so you don't have to make up 12 hours of gameplay like me.

It's such a shame, too. This had easily been my favorite game this year.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I picked ally, by the way. Flow chart wise, it would be middle, left, and whatever one next that would be Tenmiyoji.

Nasty.
I'll keep that in mind for when the game comes out here.

Do you know which room it was? It would be helpful to know not to save there ad even better if I've already been there and am done with it. Also, very sorry to hear this happened to you...Something like this could nearly ruin the game for me...

Hold on... this game was released half a year ago in Japan, and by that time they didn't fix a game breaking glitch?

I don't think it was a probablem with the Japanese version. There are very subtle differences betweeen regions, I think.
Also, there's two language tracks. Not like changing them solved my problem, but there's definitely a lot more content in this version of the game from that perspective.

Also, as far as I'm aware, this only seems to be a problem on the 3DS version of the game. I haven't heard any of this happening with the Vita version.

That sounds horrible. It's a good thing that I was intending to buy the Vita version anyway.

Apparently there's another one.

Now I guess I just won't save during puzzle sequences. Looks like the Vita version is the one to get now, seeing as it doesn't seem to have these problems. Sucks, too, because the rest of the game is brilliant.

Thankfully, it looks like Aksys is looking for a solution, so that's good.

I wonder why the 3DS version has so many glitches while the Vita version is glitch-free? Odd...

Well, only two have been found, and it isn't happening to tons of people. Considering this game glues people to their 3DS, it's likely that many people would just go through the puzzles anyway. Still, these glitches seem really weird to me. The game is incredibly polished when you don't take those two into consideration. It's weird that the only two glitches that have been found in the game completely destroy saves.

I don't know, it's pretty strange.

Wow I was just going to buy this today, After getting all 6 endings in 999... I hope they fix this cause the reviews for this game have been amazing.

Considering how active Aksys was in explaining every single minute loose thread from the previous game, I'm sure they're now aware of the glitches and are working on a patch for them as we speak. When I start my 3DS copy, I guess I'll take @Moomoo's advice and just not save during puzzle sequences. if i can't ignore my life for long enough to beat it in one sitting.

Exactly.

The fact that I was willing to plod through the sections of the game I lost, which took about 5 hours to do, shows how good this game is. Considering how story heavy it is, that's incredibly impressive. Buy it, it's brilliant. There's a reason the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Since you got all six endings in 999, I'm kind of surprise you haven't gotten it yet.

I know this doesn't have to do with the glitch, but I couldn't find another thread about this game. Is there definitely only 1 save slot like there was on 999? Because when you go to save it looks like the screen is leaving room for other save files, but I haven't found a way to make a new one, so I'm assuming there is only one. That was the only thing I hated about 999 because my wife loved that game, too, and we always had to wait until one of us reached an ending before the other could start playing again.

@ moomoo
The same thing happen to me. I went in with the door with Clover and the old man. The PEC room. I don't want to spoil anything either but I came to a part where I could not save, or really do anything else. So I turned it off, load data, black screen. Man that sucked.

Yep, it looks like 1 save file. Sucks too, because this game could benefit from having multiple saves. Still, there's no way I'd let anyone play this game until I did everything in it, so I guess it wouldn't have a big impact on me.
