8 year old cheerleaders in school, page 3, toddlers and tiaras and worshipping low level vapid celebrities because they have a sex tape, yep the west aren't creepy and wrong. Even then you've still got incest in shows like Dexter and Games and Throne, where's the out cry for those creepy and wrong shows?
I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong with 8 year old cheerleaders! Is that an age specific activity? Kids do dancing and figure skating etc. What's the dif?
Go to Google images and see what you get when you type in "cheerleaders".
Fire Emblem fates is a shameless cash grab. Why? Let me explain.
As a disclaimer, I'm still buying all 3 versions, but this will probably the last fire emblem I get. This isn't because "I hate Dlc" or "waah version split", but rather one story of the game could have possibly gotten butchered for the dlc, and alot of important information is withheld from each story for the 3rd path, which is set up to be the definitive path and possibly make the other games obsolete. Now, let me explain
Nohr (conquest) story is lackluster due to the naivety of the MU and the idiocy of azure. To put in the vaguest way possible, they make a plan to thwart the great evil by essentially doing everything the evil tells them to do, kill countless innocent people along the way, just to make the great evil sit on the throne. This is terrible writing as you're technically the good guy but still did all this evil... when you already know that the evil is evil from the get go. There is no reason why you couldn't relay this information to your allies and let the evil man action speak for itself, then proceed to subvert the evil man power. This would've saved lives by avoiding meaninglessness deaths. There is an entire thread devoted to the story on serenes for those who want an indepth look at the story, for purchasing reasons. I also asked an importer who gave me a very good spoiler free overview with the strength and weaknesses of each story.
Hoshido (Birthright) story is said to be much better, with worst maps overall. Many of the maps are said to be like awakening's, and the objectives are repetitive, being mostly seize and rout, when Nohr has great variety. This detail clearly highlight the contrast between the games: better story, worse gameplay (Hoshido), Worse Story, Better gameplay (Nohr), setting up the third route to be the definitive version of the game. It doesn't help that the third route has the optimal ending where nothing bad happens to likeable characters, and the main antagonist in both stories is only exposed in this route. The greatest offender here is that the online portion of the game is basically pain to win with the dlc, as they have access to the greatest birth of classes, characters and skills.
To summarize the problems
-3rd route is set up to be definitive fire emblem experience, possessing the optimal mix of story and gameplay.
-3rd route is most likely canon, reducing the other games stories to What if scenarios, no irony intended.
-The 3rd route has the biggest lead online, with the biggest variety of classes, skills and kids.
Important details are left out of each game plot, that only appears in the 3rd story.
This is quite honestly unacceptable, as we're basically having one game broken into 3 parts, plot wise, and one version being obsolete from a gameplay perspective. I hope people read the topic and think wisely about this game, as this can potentially spread to other series if Nintendo find it to work.

Honestly, the version split and then offering everything on 1 cartridge on a limited, pricy item screamed cash in already.
The fanservice and how they made the side routes feel incomplete in some way just added icing to the cake. Third path being the "true" ending and game, locked behind an eternal paywall.
The worst part is that their strategy is really paying off already, so nothing will stop them from repeating it again.

Thank you Yugioh avatar double poster, I completely read your entire rant about the "problem" with selling 2 1/2 - 3 times the amount of game for an equivalent amount.
@Sleepingmudkip: Just buy what you will when it comes out and ignore the naysayers.

Not going to lie, I could not possibly have any less interest in reading anything beyond these two lines, but you're wasting your time if you want to huff and puff and still buy them anyway.
Will consumers never learn to vote with their wallets?
No, they will not.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Oracle of Ages an Oracle of Seasons are not two versions of a game. They are in fact two different games.
This seems slightly pedantic; peanut butter, and jelly are completely dissimilar but are intended to be "experienced" together.
Depending on tastes, ofc.
How exactly is Fates two "versions" when they are in fact separate games with only 20%ish similar content?
You just said why, the idea of versions shouldn't harm expectations as long as people understand there is a very small degree of overlap. Which is fast becoming common knowledege.
I should point out that there are over 65 characters in all the versions combined not counting captured characters or NPCs.
3 main
9 both routes
19 Hoshido
18 Nohr
22 Children
13 Captured
5 DLC/Amiibo (so far)
That's 86 total so far.
My favorite characters out of all of them are Lazward (Inigo) and Odin (Owain). I just love their relationship and their growth as characters. I do prefer Inigo a bit though, just because I like his whole shy aspect.
