It's called Fire Emblem If in Japan and it is out this summer.

So outside chance of us seeing this before the end of the year.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

You should totally get around to that. I rarely play games all the way to completion these days, but I have about 200 hours logged on Awakening. It's the best game on 3DS.

I was quite surprised, I havent played awakening yet (much less any other fire emblem game) but I suspected this was a one-title per system kind of franchise. I think they are hitting in the right direction - especially the japanese market should like it!

It really depends on how you define it. It's a confusing series. 7 of the 13 mainline FE games are JP-only, and several are either side stories or remakes.

Fire Emblem 3 was both a remake of Fire Emblem 1 and a sequel. Then Fire Emblem 11 was a remake of the remake and Fire Emblem 12 was a remake of the sequel. Fire Emblem 2 is more like Fire Emblem 1.5 though, and Fire Emblem 5 is more like Fire Emblem 4.5. I guess that would make Fire Emblem 3 more like Fire Emblem 2 even though it's a remake and sequel of Fire Emblem 1. Fire Emblem Awakening is Fire Emblem 13, but the 6th game in English and hopefully you played Fire Emblem 1, Fire Emblem 3, or Fire Emblem 11 first, because it references that one game. Also, Fire Emblem 7 takes place before Fire Emblem 6, which is JP-only. Fire Emblem 12 is also JP-only, but that's OK because Fire Emblem 13 is sort of a sequel to Fire Emblem 11.

Fire Emblem 10 is the odd one if you ask me.

Wow! Like I said I havent yet played any title of the series, and it will probably take some time until I lay my hands on awakening, simply because there is too much for me to play - before that awakening. But thats OK, I take my time with games, usually weekend only - too tired after work -

Like I said in another post I think I will try that Puzzle & Dragons mario edition first - seemed kinda cool to me - rpg gaming combined with this symbol arranging battle system -

Before anyone complains that this looks too similar to Awakening, remember that the GBA had three Fire Emblems games that all used the game visuals and gameplay.

With that said, I'm pleasantly surprised by this. I never would have guessed a new FE would be released so soon, but it's at the top of my wish list!

I was wondering that too. Guess some people squinted or paused the trailer.

Anyway, very happy to look forward to this, maybe by Christmas this year I will have finished with FE: Awakening and S.T.E.A.M and I'll be ready for this new one.

At first I thought the Wii U was getting a new Dynasty Warriors game until I saw a Pegasi. Very excited for this, now all we need is a new Metroid game.

Oh wait, found some.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.

First of all, that's an impressive trailer.
Second of all, I wish Nintendo would stop announcing games with halfassed placeholder titles.

Maybe it is just called "Fire Emblem."

I think everyone assumed Xenoblade Chronicles X was just a half-assed placeholder title until it... wasn't.

But they didn't call it "Fire Emblem"

They called it "The Latest Entry in the Fire Emblem Series"

Awakening is a Fire Emblem with the things that make it unique nerfed or removed.

(With any luck it is back to business as usual.)

Yeah, I keep seeing people saying this without actually saying what it is that was removed. Granted I've only played Awakening and Sacred Stones, but I loved Awakening - it's one of my favourite games. What exactly is it missing that every other game in the series has?

Outside of Fog of War and alternative mission objectives; Awakening wasn't missing much else. If this game is anything like that one, we'll be fine. Speaking of, I normally hate Fog of War, but if it were to return; I'd be all for the challenge especially if it's fair like how Advance Wars: Days of Ruin/Dark Conflict handled it.
