Topic: FFVII Remastered in 3D

This needs to happen. If they enchanted the graphics and added 3D it would be a console seller. Imagine two of the most influential fantasy games (OOT and FFVII) on the 3DS. Nintendo would eat into the potential Sony handheld market.

Final Fantasy games past VI had not been on a Nintendo system (only spinoff-ish ones), so I can only see VII remastered on a Sony system.

Well, there are a few (or one?) DS games where FFVII > characters appeared.

But i still find it hard to happen.

I think they keep FF VII exclusive to Sony PlayStation.

If a 7 is going to be remade on the 3DS, I would rather Dragon Quest VII be remade. Square-Enix needs to stop milking certain Final Fantasy games to death. Looking at you FFIV and VII. A 3DS version of FFVI I could get behind though.

It's funny, but even though the storyline and characters have been milked to death, FFVII has never been remade (unlike FFIV).

I agree. Final Fantasy isn't nearly as good as Dragon Quest in my humble opinion. So yes, I vote with you on Dragon Quest VII 3DS.

i wouldn't mind a new final fantasy game for the 3DS other than that other game. Wouldn't mind a Dragon Quest game for it either. Actually I think there`s a new Dragon Quest game being developed for Japan.

Thats complete nonsense. Then how do you explain Sony releasing 1-6?... Multiple times.

@ nintendopower.com/polls it tells you that there is a 3DS Dragon Quest game on the way. It doesn't come out until next year I believe.

If FFIV was remastered on PSP as it was originally released on Nintendo's platforms (among other titles), then I don't see why FFVII can't be on 3DS. Besides the fact Sony published it- but that didn't stop the earlier FF games from appearing on other consoles as some were published by Nintendo.. So, whatevs.

If it's going to make people cry, leave it for PSVita or something Sony. The less crying, the better.

Remastering FFVII for the 3DS would take a fraction of the time and cost as doing a complete remake in HD. One is enhancing looks and adding some new features. The other is reinventing the wheel.

To all the DQ lovers, I like DQ too but the question wasn't "would you rather DQVII remade or FFVII remade".

At the end of the day the fact of the matter is FFVII was the cause of the JRPG boom of the late 90's and into the next century. Is by far one of the best selling games and is overall more beloved around the world. It would make more money for the work needed to do the project. Because of that it should be more likely.

as a nintendo fan id say a remake of FF7 on 3D wouldnt be all that bad

@WaltzElf, yes, I know and it's sort of sad. I wish we'd get a animated Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy II anime series but I know that much like the proposed The Dark Crystal sequel movie and animated series might not have a successful time getting off the ground. Not to go off topic but they've already shot down Johnny Depp's Lone Ranger and I'm really upset about that. So, I know Sony isn't going to let Cloud Strife and company pop out in 3D under Nintendo licensing in the very lest.
