Hey all. I was hoping someone might want to take me up on a trade offer here in the forums...
I really want to get my hands on a copy of EOU2 but all my funds are tied up with FE Fates and Twilight Princess HD. Does anyone have a copy they'd consider bartering?

So, this was released in Europe a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed the demo, but became engrossed in something else in the meantime. However, I've got back into Untold 2 and am loving it.
Just for the record I loved Etrian Odyssey I-IV and very much enjoyed Untold: The Millennium Girl, although it is my least favourite because the post-game was scaled-up in difficulty (after all, you can now reach level 99) and, in my opinion, really needed the best Grimoire Stones for the superboss. As such, it is the only game in the series that I can't 100% complete in "Normal" difficulty, which does irk me somewhat. That said, I liked what they did with the story, voice acting and the new Highlander class.
As far as Untold 2 goes, the new class - Fafnir Knight - is absolutely fantastic! He's a Landsnechkt, Samurai and Alchemist all rolled into one! It's interesting being made to use Fafnir, Sovereign, Protector, Survivalist and War Magus in Story Mode, as the "accepted" party in the original was Samurai, Dark Hunter, Gunner, Hexcaster and War Magus. Thankfully the War Magus can now use Revive!
The Grimoire Stones system has been massively improved, making it much clearer that certain ones boost power-ups you already have (such as Blade Mastery). There are also several slots, so you can eventually equip quite a few.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the Recipe, Town Development and café Advertising system. I wonder if that's developing the Etrian Odyssey formula a bit too far.
Anyway, I'm now at the 3rd Stratum and can't wait to push on!
This is just a reminder I need to pick up this game on the next sale. It will go right to my backlog though but I do like to support Atlus (sans that 50$ price point) whenever I can because I know I'll play this game at some point.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Just a quick update: I actually felt quite uncomfortable during the section after the 3rd Stratum. I'm an EO veteran, but they don't normally have that sense of "You're stuck here, you might fail". Luckily I worked out how to do it, but it was a fraught section.
These Untold games sure do have a lot of story compared to the originals!
Well, I beat the main game. Fafnir Knight is such a cool class, and I wonder if it'll be in future games.
It's funny, the difficulty curve in Etrian Odyssey II was extremely steep until you reached the 3rd Stratum. In the remake, it's not a steep learning curve, but I did notice a few difficulty spikes. Unusually for an Etrian Odssey game, I actually needed to grind (which I only really did in the other games after Resting/Retiring) in a few places.
But anyway, it's a great game. Not quite as epic as the original, but there's still a sense of achievement in getting to (and beating) the 5th Stratum. Now, onto the post-game...
