I'm not too bothered by the higher price since Atlus titles are pretty niche in the first place. Shin Megami Tensei IV was $50 as well, so it's not a huge surprise. The Etrian Odyssey games are always going on sale on the eShop as well, so if you're still hesitant because of the price then just wait for a sale.
Judging by the length of EO IV, timewise it is certainly value for money.
I really am loving the remastered soundtrack. I know the demo says that the music will sound better in the finished version but it still sounds good. My favorites include Woodland Ruins, The First Campaign, A Sudden Gust of Wind That Calls for Death (FOE), and Bloody Fight - Betting it All (Main Characters Force Skill)
I am enjoying the new map features. It is really interesting to see how the mapping system evolved from EOIV, to Untold, to here. I can't wait to fiddle with all of the new mapping features in the rest of the floors.
The demo goes pretty far into the story. I was surprised to see how much story they put into it. I don't remember how much they put into the first Untold demo. Either way, I feel invested in some of the characters.
I think the English voice acting is pretty ok. Its nothing special, but it'll do. My only gripes lie with Arianna's voice. Arianna's voice is incredibly grating. I also don't think the English voice they gave her suits her at all. Its a shame as I absolutely LOVE Arianna's Japanese voice and I love her design. Every time she went "My!", I cringed from how awful it sounded. Oh well. I just have to hope she doesn't say it very often in the game, but judging by how absolutely cute she is in her portraits, I don't think this will be the last I hear her say "My!".
I guess a dreaded thought I have is that they remove the vocals from the opening and/or replace them with English vocals. It just wouldn't sound the same.
(edit) Duh. I forgot to talk about the actual gameplay. It is, for the most part, the same Etrian Odyssey formula that I love but with more bells and whistles. The Force skills are pretty broken in some instances and I feel like the FOEs or even the Superbosses won't be to very challenging if you know how to exploit them (I have seen some ridiculous shenanigans with force skills). The grimoire system is back but now you can equip three stones as opposed to the one. I don't know if the full version will let you meld multiple abilities onto one stone but if it can, that'll just be insane. I also like the team they give you. A Fafnir, a Princess, a Survivalist, a Protector, and a War Magus make for a pretty good party, (at least from what I can tell).
Overall, I am very excited for this game, despite not caring for Arianna's English voice (If you couldn't tell, I absolutely LOVE HER!). I kind of want to try out Classic mode when I get the game just to see how the other classes were changed from their EOU versions and to see their force skills.
From my experience there always seems to be that one voice in Atlus games that annoys me. Can't think of one from SMTIV though. As for the opening music you are safe as I'm sure like previous EO games you already played the first part of the game and that data will transfer over to the main game. No way they are changing the opening voices.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I might actually buy this game before a price drop. I actually like it. I had no trouble beating the FOE in the first part. That dog or wolf Wulfgar was a pretty awesome ally to have. He really helped me out of some jams. Definitely hope I see him again. Haven't gotten to the ruins yet. I am trying to prolong the demo since I probably won't be getting this game until October.
Want: Harvest Moon: One World, Story of Seasons: Pioneering Town, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
Finished the Alola Dex.
Now playing New Horizons, Wrath of White Witch and Sword
I love how generous Atlus is with their demos. I'm roughly 2 1/2 hours into the demo and it is showing no signs of ending. I'm enjoying my time with this a bit more than the first EOU's story mode, although classic mode is still going to be the big draw for me with this game. Some of the Force skills you get are kind of overpowered, so this is definitely one I'll be playing through entirely on Expert mode.. The 3D in this game gives me a headache, though.
Voice acting isn't terrible, but it certainly isn't Persona levels of excellent either.
Stronger than I care for. I don't know if that's because it's different than EOIV or because I've become much more sensitive to the stereoscopic 3D effect as of late.
@Ralizah: Now you got me curious and I don't want to load it up because I know I'll play it too much lol. I've committed to playing Majora's Mask to honor Iwata since I've never beat it.

How funny. I'm playing through this demo to take a break before I clear the final section of Majora's Mask (I've obtained all the masks and just have to clear the moon section of the game now).
How far did you get before? This is shaping up to be one of my favorite Zelda games.
@Ralizah: This is going off from what i remember when it first launched many years ago. I know I beat the first dungeon but outside of that I can't remember much. As of now I'm 3 hours in and have yet to find the first dungeon but I'm enjoying it up to this point but I also remember a lot of this stuff too.

Well, I can't say I have ever seen any of the recent atlus games at any store around me. But seeing how they cost 50 dollars up there, applying the conversion and taxes they would probably cost around 60-70 dollars or more here. Maybe.
In the eshop, atlus is actually pretty easy on the pricing, their games are usually cheaper here than in the U.S. Haven't checked if the game already has a price in the eshop, but if they go with the same as Persona Q, then it'll be around 600 Pesos, which according to Google is 38 dollars.
But I don't really have too much money for gaming right now, so I'll still wait for sale.
Well, I had a 3DS XL before I upgraded to the 2DS, so it's not completely new.
It looks really nifty, though I haven't really gotten used to controlling the camera the c stick, my thumb still tries to use the touch screen even though I removed it.
Actually, right now I can't really use the 3D too much. The accessory pack I bought in a rush turned out to contain only bottom screen protectors, so I took a cheap tablet screen protector and cut it down to 3DS size... And it totally kills the 3D effect, with horrible ghosting.
@Spoony_Tech
I think one of the things I like so much about MM is how organic and alive the overworld feels. Ocarina of Time, classic though it may be, feels like one long series of puzzle dungeons spread out across a largely empty and boring field. In contrast, stories, puzzles, and quests permeate almost the entire map and timeline of MM.
Exactly what happened happened when I started this demo. Now I don't want to stop as it's been quite a while now since I played a EO. I need to get through Majora's Mask!! Stupid EO games and my love for them.
As for this game I'm surprised up to this point I haven't seen any anime style sequence. I've completed the map part of the game thus far and the story actually seems on the lighter side so far. I also found the 3d to be about the same as the other games. So far so good on the voices but there hasn't been a ton of those either. I'll play it to its end but I might be longing for more So afterwards. Might be time to crank up Untold Millennium Girl.
