Hello guys. Just wondering if I have credit on my eshop can I buy a game and download it on another 3ds system? Such as using excess credit to buy a friend a game.

Maybe later when we get the ability to buy download codes online?

I guess many kids bought games for stranger by accident on the Wii so they removed this feature from the 3DS and WiiU(if I remember well the Wii shop channel had the Gift option right?)

Well I think I remember reading a rumor about Nintendo bringing back the ability to gift games to a friend like they used to on the Wii. But as of now you can't unfortunately cuz my friend and I used to gift each other a couple of games back in the day.

Should we use the term "eShopping"?

Sadly, a method to do something like this is ripe for abuse, and it seems such abuse has happened in the past explaining why it's not available. I do believe there is a work-around, using pre-ordering methods. You can pre-order the digital version of a game, or buy the digital code, from Gamestop, then just give the code to someone else. Other stores may offer these as well, though I am not certain as I only have Gamestop in my area. It also rules out a lot of games, such as the ones you'd more likely want to give out to friends. The other work around is gift cards, buy the card with money, then send them the card's number.

Yeah, if you get a download code for a game, you can certainly give that to someone else. That happens quite a bit with the Club Nintendo game offerings.

So... a couple of kids exchanged friend codes with strangers, then their parents gave them money to spend on the Eshop, and the kids accidentally gifted games to those strangers instead of pressing the button that did not say "gift?" Sounds likely and legit, I completely agree with you.
