I just pulled my 3DS out of the box 12 hours. It's brand new. I noticed when I was trying to do the setup it kept restarting and taking me to the very beginning as I was doing it, but I accredited that to it having a low battery still.
I've made it through that, and now I keep getting a message that says "An error has occurred, forcing the software to close. The system will now restart." on a lot of different things. It's happened going onto W2 of Super Mario 3D Land and opening a few of the built-in things. I just got it when I tried to acces the Nintendo Network ID Settings as well.
