Topic: Easy 3DS Play Coins

While experimenting with getting play coins I found how you can keep getting them easier than day to day.

Now I wanted more play coins to finish off find mii and since I couldn't find any more people with a 3ds I was using playcoins. When I used all 10 I decided to change the date to the next day. Then when I shook my 3DS I was able to get more play coins. Then when I set it back I got 10 more.

So basically shake for 10 coins change date and get 10 more. Then repeat. But don't go to far in the past or present because that may mess up something.

Lol you don`t have to use them I was just saying you can keep getting 10 coins in one day. You can get a lot way easier then waiting.

The limit is 300 if I remember correctly, you stop accumulating them after that.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

I believe your right but if you need any coins for games or something this is an easy way to do it.

Hey I just tested it out one day. Plus I barely do it. I did it once when I was playing find mii.

I did that a bit, and decided to do it traditionally and not cheat. Though there is a better method I found out. Shake your 3DS while you are riding in a car. The speed messes it up and makes it think you are getting more steps than you shake. I got like 1000 steps in one mile!

MarioKart7 Is on it's way =D Should be here any day now.

you should actually walk and not cheat with the time, besides you will get 300 coins before you even realize it

Ok I am not saying you have to do this and not walk. I was just saying if you don't have a lot of play coins and needed more for something you can do this if you want. Plus I have only done this once and it isn't cheating. It would only be cheating if these play coins were used to buy an actual game. They are mainly used to get little things. I know you can only get 300 coins. So I know you wouldn't have to keep doing it. I just was letting people know if they needed some play coins.

Since you only get 10 coins a day, "before you even realize it" would take one month.

In defense of GameMonkey, Nintendo really did make it a limiting system. The idea is that you get rewarded for doing physical exercise, but a maximum of 1000 steps a day isn't really exercise. You can get that much in one day by getting food from the fridge a few times a day and pacing a bit. Had they decided to increase the cap, this could have been a useful way to get kids and adults to be more active. As it is though, it's a flawed system and following it only hurts the end user if they need the coins to enjoy fully enjoy their games. They're giving us the option to get more coins--is that so wrong? Go do some physical activity for the day, then cheat to your heart's content if you want the coins.

My personal way of doing it is to walk 1000 steps then change the date, but that's rather tedious.

Thanks but I wasn't saying people don't have to walk they can change the date and walk. All I was saying is having to wait a day to only get 10 more coins can be to slow. This is for people who just need a few extra play coins for something but instead of getting 10 then waiting a day you can change the date and get 10 more. You are always allowed to walk every time you change the date.

But what are we supposed to do with these coins? I keep blowing them on the Find Mii game because I can't find anything else to use them on. I'm always at the 300 coin limit.

I want the Mii Plaza games to last so I just build up coins naturally. Although I usually limit myslef to just using them on Puzzle Swap. I like to save Find Mii for actual StreetPasses.

Oh ok sorry if I sounded mad. I just was saying it might be helpful for someone. I usually don't have a lot because I use them or I forget to bring it when I am walking somewhere.

@Victoria Well you can use them in find mii, that picture game, you can buy some stuff in the ar games, You can also use them in certain games. For example street fighter, samurai warriors chronicles. I think in nintendogs as well. There are other games as well but I am unsure of which games.

How is it cheating? Like I said you can walk every time you change the date. Plus I never said to always do it. It is just a neat trick so you don't have to wait a day to get only 10 more coins.

So far I've only ever heard that you can spend the coins in fighting games and the Mii Plaza games that were designed to be played by street passing other people which is how I'd rather play those. You can't use them in Nintendogs, or any of the games I have. I keep hoping I'll find some use for the things. Sad really, as I take my 3DS everywhere with me and could easily get 10 coins every day.
