why?
as you might know there is a design flaw with the first 3DS-types made. when the system is closed the topscreen touches the edges of the bottomscreen and that can lead to marks (some even say scratches). i only ever had some very small marks on the right but still it was annoying. i always had some bumpers but now i made new ones again. third time and slightly different to the ones before but way better.
how?
i just took some black tape and made 9 layers and then took a normal bumper you can buy almost anywhere on top. then i cut off the edges and cut through it to get two. that's it! you just gotta be careful not making them too big so they don't touch the d-pad or even buttons.
do you have bumpers? any other tips to get around the design flaw?
I had duct tapped layered on the top left and right for bumpers, but when I got my XL I just started keeping a cloth between the two screens. I'd like to get some screen protectors for it though.
I thought some XLs still had that problem. I know my brother, who put screen protectors on his, got the big scratches on the screen protector. The screen was fine, but he had to get a new screen protector. Plus, a problem for me is that I have a bad habit of letting my 3DS slam shut. Although, the extra click that XLs have, and the fact I've been keeping a cloth in between the two screens, has helped me stop.
